Today's paper said Upshall was brought in to fill Johanson's role on a scorers role, not as an energy or checking line role.

I also hope Brookbank plays, especially after our last gave with them, it didn't exactly end on a good note.

If it was up to me York would sit.

How many fights you guys expecting? The usual Danton vs. Tootoo and...

SmokeyClause 10-28-2003 11:50 AM

I wanna see York sit and Hartnell as well (provided he doesn't realize what's wrong with his game).

Here's one thing I want to happen (in every game). I want Arkhipov to get floored up against the boards. Nothing fires this guy up like when he gets hit hard. He plays with so much more intensity when he's mad. They ought to staple his mug shot (from his DUI) on the chests of all the Blues. He would make Hartnell look like Baby China Bull.

As for the Blues, their D core looks disturbingly shallow. After Pronger, theres not 1 good top 4 on the team right now. Career minor leaguer Brimanis is on the third pairing (it seems). I remember when he was the captain of the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. We need to make them pay for putting both him and former Pred pick Mike Stuart on the ice. Neither are NHL caliber players right now and we need to capitalize. Backman's not too good either. He has all the tools but I've never seen him use them. We must get the puck in their end. Take the pressure off our D and put it on their D. Their forwards, while good, aren't nearly as effective in their own end. Let's keep them there.

I'll be at work all night and won't be able to participate in the GDT.

Hey Patty check out the edit button.

SmokeyClause 10-28-2003 12:10 PM

I went ahead and cleared the spelling (or was it grammatical) error up for you. I took Trigg's comment out because once the change was made, it was out of place.

He is right, you can edit your own posts.

And I would love to see Johnson start tonight.

I'm new to this board so I'm not sure of the ins/outs and quirks, etc. Thanks for the assist!

barrytrotzsneck 10-28-2003 12:41 PM

i've now read it in three places that brent johnson is getting the start tomorrow, preferring to rest osgood for tomorrow night's game vs the wings.

darth5 10-28-2003 01:25 PM

OK by me. Let them under-estimate the Preds. As long as our team brings its A game, that is...

barrytrotzsneck 10-28-2003 03:16 PM

hm...why is upshall scratched? and furthermore...why is kloucek scratched?

Basher 10-28-2003 03:25 PM

Allison just got teased by Danton. That sequence reminds me of a situation like that college freshman cutie who would bait the guy, play around a little, and when the guy pulls down his pants, she just stops and leaves. Haha, what a dumb, dumb penalty.

triggrman 10-28-2003 03:48 PM

boring first period, no flow at all to the game. Allison kept Vokoun from making the save, Vokoun tried to get a stick on it but Allison's leg was in the way. York get's caught flat footed again, Legwand with some turn overs, weak effort so far.

barrytrotzsneck 10-28-2003 03:52 PM

gee, this all looks familiar. let me guess, the blues scores 3 in the second, we make a comeback in the third and fall "just short"

triggrman 10-28-2003 04:39 PM

We'rel making Johnson look like Hasek. We need a goal scorer so bad it's not even funny. Walker is afraid to shoot, Legwand not putting in arse into it, Greg Johnson tries to shoot through the goalies chest and those are our better players, the rest aren't even getting close.

Sammy* 10-28-2003 04:44 PM

Why in Gods name is Kloucek not playing????????????

barrytrotzsneck 10-28-2003 05:17 PM

our passing\pass receiving is brutal.

Joe T Choker 10-28-2003 05:20 PM

WE NEED A SCORER

this scoring by committee isn't working worth a god damn

It's sad when Jeremy Stevenson is on your top line.

apparently they're thinking, "well, it worked for minnesota."
what they neglect to realize is that we don't have a scorer in the league of gaborik to make the scoring happen.

triggrman 10-28-2003 05:33 PM

Exactly. Why not call up Shishkanov. I'd love to see what Legwand could do with a true goal scorer on his line, I mean Scott Walker and the broken one?
