If Someone Told You...

All the Rangers had to do to clinch the division was win ONE game out of their last 5 games...Those games being against New Jersey, the Islanders, the Penguins, the Flyers and the Senators....How many of you would have signed up for that in a heart beat?

If they blow this...wow.

yup...but at the same time if someone told you that the Rangers were going to end the season with 100 points wouldn't you have signed up for that in a heart beat?

You bet, at the start of the year.

In the beginning of the season I was excited to be playing the Senators at the end because they'd ensure a loss for us in the race for the #1 overall pick in the draft. WOW, how far we have come!!!!

It really doesn that you cant take anything for granted in the NHL.

It shows how hard it can be to win the division and how hard individual numbers can be as the season wears on. Jagr just barely eclipsed Graves old goal record, and it's because by that 60th, 70th game you really start to feel the season.

Olympics didn't help either...

Especially the Olympics.

It's a grind enough without them.

That's probably the one reason I've never been a fan. It directly impacts the regular season and outcomes can be altered as a result of a tournament that doesn't even count towards the season.

Just imagine if Jagr was actually SERIOUSLY hurt in the Olympics. We'd be just about done.
