Top 25 Slovaks All Time List

Ok who can make me a top 25 Slovaks hockey player list

Peter Stastny
Marian Stastny
Anton Stastny
Dzurilla
Zdeno Chara,
Robert Svehla,
Marek Svatos.......

12# Peter Bondra 05-23-2006 02:11 PM

Svatos cant be even mentioned yet.

Mikita should be at the top (I consider him Slovak. If he aint, then Kolzig has to be considered German too as he played in the CHL etc).
Peter Stastny is next.

Then it becomes a bit more crowded.

Leaf Lander 05-23-2006 05:11 PM

mikita is more canadian then slovak

barfy2000 05-23-2006 10:32 PM

If Mikita is included he goes number one. Then Peter Stastny. Then Peter Bondra. (Peter Bondra counts right? ;) ) Then the other Stastnys, then its pretty wide open for me.

Dzurilla is in the top 3 or 4.

Id rate him even above Anton and Marian Stastny but I aint old enough to judge.

i might be wrong with his nationality. jiri holecek is a pure czech name. the fact he played in kosice (slovakia) for 10 years i assumed that....

the same with nedomansky...born in hodonin (czeck republic)...mostly played for slovan bratislava...member of slovak hockey hall of fame

gotta add milan kuzela and jan jendek to that list though.....demitra? as good as he is he might not make my top 25

He aint.

By that logic, Heatley is German.

gamera 05-31-2006 03:08 PM

Marian Hossa too young or something?

I hope he does.

ILuvLA 06-30-2006 12:35 AM

An argument could be made for Visnovsky if he keeps up his play like he did in 05/06.

12# Peter Bondra 07-02-2006 04:51 AM

Agreed.

He is a top 3 Slovak D since 1993. Great European career and good NHL career so far.

Bruno8 07-08-2006 12:47 PM

Gaborik is young, but h's got to be in the top 25.

Luck was part of czechoslovakia in past (after 1st world war so many slovaks moved there).
it is long story.
Bondra with his parents moved back to Poprad Slovakia when peter bondra was 5 or 7 years old.

peter bondra is Slovak

1. Peter Stastny

3. Peter Bondra
4. Pavol Demitra
5. Marian Stastny
6. Zigmund Palffy
7. Anton Stastny
8. Miroslav Satan
9. Ladislav Trojak http://www2.steelarena.sk/index.php?context=295&p=186
10. Igor Liba http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igor_Liba
11. Darius Rusnak
12. Marian Hossa
13. Robert Svehla
14. Zdeno Chara
15. Marian Gaborik
16. Lubomir Visnovsky
17. Michal Handzus
18. Jozef Stumpel
19. Ladislav Nagy
20. Andrej Meszaros (future #1 Slovak D)
21. Zdeno Ciger (should be higher but he is very self-conceited and he did nothing)
22. Lubomir Sekeras
23. Marek Svatos
24. Vincent Lukac (same like ciger but worse...)
25. Jan Lasak (OK OK but who did that SAVE against Sweden in 2002? :) )
(Peter Budaj)

hey... I forgot on Jozef Golonka :) -19.th place

VanIslander 07-21-2006 11:17 AM

Jan Lasak played very well in the Memorial Cup I recall.

And in terms of talent Gaborik and Nagy should be higher on that list, shouldn't they?
