habsforlife 05-29-2006 03:58 PM

just great news!

thank you,

Duff88 05-29-2006 04:15 PM

He's going back to Finland?

He doesn't even speak french and he dares to go back in his country, he truely doesn't care about the Habs. Why does this guy even have a C on his jersey, this is a real disgrace.

Now you won't have to watch 110% tonight! ;)

Wow, that is great news! Good luck Saku!

Le Tricolore 05-29-2006 05:01 PM

very nice to hear.

Legolas 05-29-2006 05:13 PM

Welcome news. I think it will take a while but it looks like Saku is making progress. As the previous Gazette article said, after battling cancer, Koivu can look at this next challenge with a calm perspective. Here's hoping he's back and better than ever.

tritone 05-29-2006 05:15 PM

 :jump: YES!!!! :bananas:

Talent Analyst 05-29-2006 05:42 PM

He care about Montreal , but he just want to be with his family .

welcome back saku ! :yo:

Toro 05-29-2006 06:15 PM

I had a feeling he was going to be alright. Thank the gods i was right...
I would hate to go into the draft knowing we have a huge hole at center rather than a small(ribiero) hole.

WAY TO GO KOIVU

goalchenyuk 05-29-2006 06:31 PM

what a surprise ! :shakehead

As i said in another thread about it , it was only food to sold more Gazette newspapers , when they were talking about Saku , may be forces to ended his carreer .

Good summer Saku !

Right in the first post ;)

I remember seeing the photo snapped of him a few months ago, without his permission, by a snoopy gossip magazine. That was horrable, and he could have injured his eye further, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Some journal the montreal scab.

deandebean 05-29-2006 09:13 PM

Before jumping all over the place, you guys should consider the fact that it's some spin doctor's follow up to the Gazette story. Nothing more. He was going to get the clearance anyways, because it was expected he was going back this week. Said so in the article.

Before bashing the newspaper, you should all take a deep breath and remember where this spin doctor's (litterally) communiqué comes from.

You're falling into the Beauchamp trap.

Koivu permitted to travel

According to the retina specialists who examined him, Koivu has been cleared for travel to Finland. That's certainly a good sign that healing is proceeding.

i am no doctor but i don t think a scratched retina is a reason for not being able to travel. koivu s wife is a month away from delivering,i just think saku wants his 2nd child to be born in his native finland. no surprise here.

Air pressure differences in a plane could be detrimental to a person with a retinal injury.

It's not a scratch, it's a small tear of the retina. You're confusing it with a scratched cornea, which is a far less serious injury.
