GDT: Flyers/Caps 11/6

Esche will be in goal tonight.

Peter White takes Claude Lapointes spot in the lineup. Claude is out with a personal emergency.

Desjardins is doubtful with back spasms, due to a bruised lower back. Vandermeer will take his place.

Brashear is possible, although it sounds more like Saturday against the Rangers will be his first game back.

FlyersFan 11-06-2003 06:31 AM

Caps are coming off an impressive win against TB. Hopefully we can cool them down.

CNote 11-06-2003 07:40 AM

esche starting again tonight?...nice. big game tonight...gotta get a win streak goin'. i'll say 4-3 philly (gagne and bondra with a pair each)

later,
dutch

go flyers go!

Teezax 11-06-2003 08:09 AM

I think it will be another display of pure offense on Philly's part. There are 2 many holes in washington's defensive game that we can exploit. I'm sure Philly will carry the momentum throughout the whole game and win big.

5-2 Philly with goals by Gagné, Handzus, Leclair (2) Pitkanen on the PP

Flyers26 11-06-2003 08:11 AM

Should be a competitive game. Look for Therien to step up against Jagr.
He's an ALL-STAR d-man against him.

GoneFullHolmgren 11-06-2003 09:29 AM

I do wonder what the defenseman pairings will be for the game. I do not like the Vandy/Therien pairing at all if they are going to replace Vandy in the same spot. Therien well he just stinks and Vandy has struggled when he has been in the lineup this season.
So i expect to maybe struggle a bit defensivly tonite. Im gonna say Flyers 5 Caps 3. last goal will be a ENG.
Flyers are rolling offensivly lately and i dont know if the Caps have anyone that can deal with our depth.
Hopefully Rico will be back for the Rangers game on Saturday.

My guess, if Desjardins is not playing.

Therien - Ragnarsson - play against Jagr
Weinrich - Pitkanen
Johnsson - Vandermeer

CNote 11-06-2003 09:49 AM

you guessed right....

"Eric Desjardins is doubtful for tonight's game against Washington due to a sore back, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. His back problems are related to a bruised sacroiliac joint that may keep him out of the Flyer lineup for a few more games."

Rex8 11-06-2003 10:30 AM

Flyers 4-2
Sami, Willy, Weinrich (PP second unit tonight), and Leclair
Fedoruk will fight at least once - feeling Brash coming will get him antsy to drop the gloves - and Vandy looking to prove his worth will look to go.
Bondra and Zubrus (who usually plays well against us) will score.

Teezax 11-06-2003 10:52 AM

I think Washington will come out as flat as their previous games...they only played well against Tampa because division games are always anyone's guess, and teams play harder to catch the first spot, in the Caps situation, they really needed to win, as Tampa would have left them in the dust had they won, plus another reason is because of the playoff series between these two, didn't end very well when the caps got called for too many men and it resulted in the series breaker.

Tonight they won't know what hit them....pending Esche's play. Looking forward to see what he brings to the table this week after getting defensive honours last week. I'm really hoping we can groom this guy to be our true number 1 for the future, i'm fed up of these contraversies with our goaltending!

Nikkowar 11-06-2003 11:19 AM

Thanks for doing my new job! :D What's up with Lappy? :(
anyways:
Flyers-4,Gagné,Williams,Roenick,Kapanen or Handzus
Caps-0

FlyersGuy69 11-06-2003 12:11 PM

Flyers 6 Caps 3

I think the Flyers will score early and often. special teams will come through for the Flyers tonight as they will get 2 PP goals.

GO FLYERS!

Brad* 11-06-2003 01:17 PM

This is a game the Flyers should win, but who knows what'll happen.

Go Flyers.

Nikkowar 11-06-2003 02:05 PM

Dr Love 11-06-2003 02:18 PM
