if we are going after bertuzzi

i have read on numerous threads that we are trying to get bertuzzi from vancouver.i would not give up under any circumstances our no3 pick for him or anybody else for that matter.we have 2 picks in the 2nd round, and 4 picks in the 4th round.i would give up bell, vorobiev and our one of our 2nds for bertuzzi.thiers about 10 days to go before the draft, and once the playoffs are over,i think that we are gonig to here more about trades, leading up to the draft.

Vorobiev is worth giving another shot next year.

Wally112pac 06-14-2006 08:10 PM

I don't want Bertuzzi on this team.

Vorobiev is Vrbata. The only difference is that Vrbata tries to pass when he should shoot, whereas Vorobiev tries to stickhandle when he should pass.

Say no to Vorobiev and Bert. Yawney hates Vorobiev so get something for him.

Who isn't like Vrbata to you? I think you recently compared Chistov to him, which I'm more inclined to agree with over Vorobiev.

Vrbata is a softer player than Vorobiev to me. Vorobiev is stronger along the boards and while he has had the tendancy to dangle too much, he cut back on that quite a bit before he injured his ankle. I'd say Vrbata is the more perimeter player.

I doubt Tallon's thinking is this linear.

Zaddik 06-16-2006 04:21 AM

nothing to fear. the chances of bertuzzi landing in the western conference are slim.

Philoushka 06-17-2006 12:17 AM

let's just hope he lands somewhere other than YVR

forget Bert....

bring in JR... he is a class ACT.

he put the arse in Class

Are Vrbata, Vorobiev, and Chistov not all soft skilled sniping second liners?

Vrbata isn't a sniper. Like you said, he passes when he should shoot. I agree. When he ran the powerplay all he did was set up Bell from the boards and when that wasn't an option he took a slap shot at the net hoping Lapointe, Calder or someone would get a tip or get the rebound (which was basically our power play strategy under Cassidy).

Vrbata combines skill and finesse where I see Vorobiev combining skill and grit. Both could have a niche on the team.

I think coming up around the same time as Radulov and Yakubov hasn't done Vorobiev any favors in the eyes of some.
