OT: Eric Cole is making a comeback tonight!

 not that I'm cheering for Carolina but it's still good to hear!

He's only playing so he might have the chance to get his name on the cup. In my opinion, it's not worth risking your life.

However, in the new days of the NHL...the dynasties are gone. So if you get a chance to win the cup, it will most likely not come along again.

Your name won't be on the cup if you didn't play in the playoffs? I know that there's a rule for that but I'm not sure. Why didn't he play in game 5 then?

He's playing because Weight is out.

He took alot more shifts then I thought he would if he was just playing for his name on the cup. He also delivered quite a few hits.

i was amazed at how he played considering the injury he had in MARCH.....

WHAT AN ATHLETE

Because the results from hospital werent in yet and he wasent cleared to play.

That sucked when Orpik hit Cole from the back back in march in a game that didn't mean **** for Pitsburgh... Cole was in great shape but his timing was a bit off but that was expected .

It wasn't even a dirty hit imo.

Untrue. He's fulfilled the minimum regular season requirements so he'd have his name on the Cup regardless.

This is a pretty nonsensical statement to make and present it as fact anyway.

Glad he is okay and able to continue playing but imo, it screams of desperation on Carolina's behalf.

Mike8 06-17-2006 11:43 PM

If only their players played desperately tonight, they might've finished up the series.

Cole looked pretty good to me though, it was exciting to hear he was back. Real good second shift he had too, asserting himself physically.

I thought he looked good physically, but i think like a lot of players with that type of layoff, he seemed out of synch offensively, which was true for every cane. Although very tough to judge him that way based on how the team played overall. He is still a beast, but the next game is a really test. Often the first game back guys play over there head do to adrenaline. If his body can respond, as well as the canes, they have a good shot Monday but big MO is not in their favour.

Let's go Oilers :handclap: :handclap: :handclap:

I think you either have to play half the games in regular season or 1 game in the playoffs to get your name on the cup. If Carolina should win, then he fulfils both criteria. Hopefully though, he still won't get his name on the cup this year ;)

I was thinking the same thing. He is taking such a chance playing last night and probably again tomorrow. That said if I where in his place, I don't know I might just go for it also.
