That's It...I'm done with Hockey...

From now on I refuse to watch a hockey game other than the Habs...

I simply can't stand watching a ****** bag team such as the Carolina Hurricanes win the stanley cup.

Habsaku 06-19-2006 09:54 PM

Watch for Portugal losing as well.

Good for the Canes.

jcpenny 06-19-2006 09:55 PM

Come on man you dont mean that. The canes are a great team and they deserve this cup.

les Habs 06-19-2006 09:58 PM

I sorta hear that. In terms of football, nobody is as entertaining as Barça. I'd much rather watch Barça than the World Cup.

As for hockey, it's largely the same. I'd much rather watch the Habs than anybody else. Once the Habs' season was finished my interest in the game went down quite a bit.

Rayne* 06-19-2006 10:00 PM

Say what you will about what could've been in the series with Montreal had Koivu not been injured, but Carolina deserved it from the 2nd round on. The Oilers were nothing more than another Cinderella story.

MacHabs93 06-19-2006 10:00 PM

Come on!! There's still one thing to watch and hope for!!!

Williams carrying the cup, tripping over a stick, poking his eye out on the water bottle. Career over ...

What, it was accidental ?

Their isn't a single player (other than Cam Ward) that isn't a ****** bag on the Carolina Roster.

Carolina Hurricanes + Stanley Cup = :shakehead

Cinderella team is an understatement, they were often dominated during the post-season.

Same here, this is the 3rd game I watched of the finals and found it piss boring. Maybe it's just hockey all together, or maybe it's cuz of the world cup fever. Either way, I'm not watching the NHL anymore unless the habs are on the ice.

MathMan 06-19-2006 10:03 PM

Well, they didn't choke on the opportunities that were handed to them. Credit them for that, at least. ;) But the Oilers made them earn the Cup, so they did.

I don't like them, I don't like the way Brind'Amour came across to me, and I don't think they were the best team in the playoffs. But the "champion team" and the "best team" are two very different things.

Frankly, Montreal is a side note in this story; they were not the better team. Buffalo is the team that really got a raw deal.

There isn't a single team that I would hate more to see win the stanley cup (No not even the Bruins nor Leafs).

I just can't help thinking about what would have happened if it wasn't for the highstick on saku.

After tonight, I definitely agree. I can't believe all the ****ing luck the canes got during the ****ing playoffs. Every team they played lost their number 1 player. It's unreal. Someone obviously sold his soul.

Koivu was a freak accident, but the Carolina forecheck was tireless and devastating, the opposing players got injured for a reason. Been a while seen I've seen a team this intense.

I can't argue that they don't deserve the Cup, because they won. But they're not a great team. They're a fluke, like Tampa last year. I can't shake the feeling that they're unworthy of the Cup. I wouldn't be surprised to see them miss the playoffs next year, or struggle to make the 8th seed like Tampa this year.

I might be a Habs homer, but I also respected good teams that won the Cup. Like the semi-dynastic Detroit, New Jersey, Dallas and Colorado franchises. Carolina, like Tampa before it, got lucky one year.

Maybe Carolina (and Tampa) will prove me wrong and establish themselves over the next several years as quality franchises who are worthy of being called Stanley Cup Champions. In fact, I really hope they do, because otherwise the NHL has really lost something important if any team in any given year can fluke their way to the Cup. I say that especially because when (or if) Montreal wins the Cup, it should mean that they've achieved elite status rather than simply taking their turn as the lucky team in that given year.

joke...seriously....

What a serious joke this Stanley Cup season was, from bad officials to just the pure politics of this game has come through.

To keep the American market happy, lets give Carolina all the breaks, and give them the Cup, they don't surely deserve it, not after that first round against us, or even through the Cup series, without a penality in sight for high sticking or running goaltenders.

Lets give the Board of Governors credit pulling this off for the american fans. Carolina doesn't deserve it! Period!

Don't you see something wrong with this statement? they deserved the cup from the 2nd round on....they never should have even gotten that far and had the refs actually done their job we wouldn't be talking about this team winning the stanley cup

Bull. Simply asinine as a whole. If the refs were on anyone's side in the Finals, it was Edmonton; from the GWG in Game 3 to the no-goal in this game that could've cost the Hurricanes the Cup, the Oilers got the calls.

Leave the board until you get a clue.

Wow...I'm so ashamed of being a habs fan some times.

Do you actually think a penalty, a single one would've changed anything? You're going with hypothesis while theres reality in front of you. The Canes beat the Habs trailing, they beat the devils, the sabres and a hot Oilers team, the last two series beeing in 7. They beat real tough teams and we're not outplayed in any of their rounds.
