Player from the Q not taken at the draft?

What good player from the Q have not been taken this year? We could invite these players for the rookie training camp, dont you think?

ChemiseBleuHonnete 06-25-2006 04:49 PM

Maybe Mathieu Roy and Ryan McDonough from Saginaw?

Vinceee 06-25-2006 04:50 PM

Alexandre Picard-Hooper: 77 games, 100pts, 57 goals

korky00 06-25-2006 04:56 PM

Was Benjamin Breault drafted?

montreal 06-25-2006 05:00 PM

Mathieu Roy for sure imo. Sebastien Bisaillon from Val' D Or. Martin Bartos, J-C Blanchard, Stefan Giliati, Eric Castonguay, Maxim Noreau, Jordan Clendenning. I'd invite Bisaillon, Roy, Bartos, Noreau and maybe Castonguay.

I simply don't understand why no one wants to draft Roy. It baffles me.

Galchenkel 06-25-2006 05:43 PM

talking a bout de Q....does anyone have some news of G Ryan Mior. will he still be playing with the PEI Rocket next year? He's undrafted right?

Oiler own him

VanNistelrooy 06-25-2006 06:35 PM

That's not the same Mathieu Roy... He is a '83 born guy... The overagers this year in Q was '85.

There is Brent Aubin from Quebec Remparts who's not drafted and could be interesting.

habsprospects 06-25-2006 07:20 PM

nah, '86

theoretically, it was his last year of draft eligibility, so he should be free agent

How does this work?

Does anyone have the specific rule for when a junior can be signed as a UFA?

I think that when the player's not eligible anymore then he can be signed any time but if he's still eligible, the player can only sign with the team who will have invited him to the training camp and I think he must sign before the start of the junior or NHL season,

I know only three players who did that:
Olivier Michaud with Montreal in September 18, 2001
Josh Gorges with San Jose in September 20, 2002
Olivier Latendresse with Phoenix in September 15, 2004

all of them been 18 years old and in their 1st year draft eligible

deandebean 06-25-2006 08:59 PM

Who took Carpentier?

Exactly a Calgary-type of player. Good choice. Wish it would have been us.

That's way overblown IMO especially when you consider a lot of the headcases that went high in their draft year. I've known Roy for some time now, he's a dedicated plyer.
