where o where is our first line signing? :(
|
Frolov-Conroy-Cammalleri
Brown-McCauley-Willsie Cowan-Avery-TK Thornton-Armstrong-Parros |
ya but where do the kids fit in, in that line up?
|

Frolov, Conroy, Cammy Brown, Rookie/3rd liner, Rookie/3rd Liner Better hope the youth is ready I think.... Don't have a problem with this Willsie kid. But did he get those 40pts from playing with AO? Or was he on another line? Either way its nice to get some real NHL depth for the 3rd/4th lines... |
Pavol who?

Frolov, Conroy, Cammy Brown, Kopitar/O'Sullivan, Willsie Cowan, McCauley, Avery Thornton, EB, Parros If more then one rookie works (Pushie, ete) out then guys like Cowan and Parros sit. If they are not ready then we get your line up:). |

I like these two year deals that DL is making, he hasnt signed anyone long term. Wonder if he has anyone in his sights in the next couple years.

The question is simple. Do you want your rookie to be on the 4th line playing 4-6 minutes a game or down in the AHL playing 15-20? What is better for his development? The question isn't if Parros is better.:) |

Its not like they don't need NHL depth just like everyone else. |
More two-way help. If this team can put together a dangerous first line, they might be able to win a lot of close, low scoring games with the improved team defense. But Frolov, Conroy and Cammy is not a dangerous first line. That is a quality second line.
Magic 8-ball sez... there will be a lot of 2-1 losses in the Kings future. |
Hes a 3rd line RW who put up pretty good numbers but I dont now why we signed him unless we are going to let Belanger or some of our other 3/4th line players go. He played with Ovechkin alot last year so that is probably where he got alot of his points but maybe Lombardi saw something in him. I really hope this is not a signing for the top 6.
|
Another good lockerroom guy.
You know, there are a couple of current kings who carry a little bit of attitude baggage with them on and off the ice. All of DL's signings to date dont seem to have that problem. The thing that makes me most excited, is that we're going to see a VERY different team than we saw last season, even without the youngsters. |
too many players...theres got to be a trade coming soon. there must be if they're going to break in o'sullivan and kanko at the forwards.

Id say a few of the names on the "qualified" list will be soon to go. Good way to stockpile mid-round picks for the 89 or 90 crop.

That's not at all true. Someone will give up a 4th round pick to take a chance on Avery. |
I'm sure that's exactly why DL signed him. I would be surprised to see Belanger and Avery on the Kings opening night. TK is probably now a 4th liner too.

I'm of the opinion that we are going to deal a few guys pretty soon. Also, Reap you'd have to have at least O'Sullivan and potentially Kopitar in that lineup. Not just from a winning perspective but from a learning perspective. |
Honestly I think only 3 rookie forwards have a decent chance to make the team this year out of the camp.
O'Sullivan Kopitar Pushkarev Of those I think we are only going to have at most 2 on the team. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if none of them make the team out of the camp. Tukonen needs at least another season down in the AHL. I don't see a spot for Kanko. Guy is a future pest 3rd liner and we don't really need another one of those now. I also didn't really think he is NHL ready yet. |

i think avery and sopel could go and maybe get the kings a decent return for a solid defenseman. |
