Corey Locke Article
There are rumors that Corey Locke could be traded from the Ottawa 67's. Not so, according to coach Brian Kilrea. Here's Kilrea's statement, note that he expects Locke to be a star.
"Corey Locke will end (his junior career) as a 67. He's the type you build your organization around. Later on in life when he's a star, I want people to remember that he was a 67, not traded to some other team at the end of his career here." http://www.canoe.ca/Slam031109/chl_ott-sun.html There has been negative discussion about Locke's top end potential. I can't comment, I've never seen Locke play. But Kilrea's in the Hockey Hall of Fame; his judgement must be worth something. |
Excellent article. Thanks for posting it. You're right. When Kilrea says things like that about a player it means a lot.

If those rumours about Locke to London are true, that could make London the definite favourite to win the Memorial Cup.
I wouldn't mind seeing Locke finish his OHL career around guys like Schremp, Perry, Bolland, and Sheppard. |
Wow. Those are good comments coming from a reputable coach. :handclap:

just imagint if fleury was sent back to the eagles. then they would be the definite favourits to win the memorial cup for sure

As for him being traded, it would help the 67's. My how the mighty have fallen, and they didn't lose too many key ingredients either... |
