Marek Svatos sound like he could be available .

Ryder for Svatos?

http://www.denverpost.com/avalanche/ci_4049247

"We're at a point where it's tough to say where it goes from here," Svatos' agent Rich Evans said. "(Talks) could have gone better; otherwise, we'd have a deal by now."

Why do we need more forwards prospects? What about Vandermeer, given up already?

no Vandermeer wil be here next week.

what's your problem with Vandermeer?

what's your beef about Marek Svatos?

RC51 07-14-2006 08:08 PM

bag of pucks

Bugsy 07-14-2006 08:08 PM

Why Ryder for Svatos??
They are pretty much the same offensively!

Ryder played all last season with a disc problem and Svatos had Sakic feeding him the puck!

It would be a sideways move because before last season, Svatos was a big question mark health wise. He broke out, was awesome, but like Ribeiro in his breakout season, caught everyone off guard!

I know it's the offseason and all, but it seems a bit tedious to start a new thread about what Montreal fans would give up for X RFA player every second day. Maybe it's just me.

Svatos has alot more jump to his game and can carry the puck end to end. Something Ryder cant do.

phil 07-14-2006 08:19 PM

I'd wait to see if he's for real... then speculate on what we should offer

Svatos bagged 32 goals in 61 games and averaged 3 mins a game less than Ryder
i dunno not sure you can compare the 2 by stats really there 2 very diffrent players

I'd add.
At the time of his injury, Svatos led the NHL in game-winning goals with nine, which tied an NHL record for game-winning goals by a rookie. He was second in goals and third in points for all rookies.

Svatos is certianly talented but can we get a bigger forward for once ?

Thanks

ForsbergForever 07-14-2006 08:35 PM

Gainey said offering contracts to other teams' RFAs is not the way to get players. So Any thread in this mold is just pure fantasy.

that the point of this thread . looks like the avs are going to
possibily TRADE Svatos and why i offered up Ryder im not talking about stealing rfa's

znk 07-14-2006 08:46 PM

He'd cost more the Ryder. But they would only accept low salary players.
So I dont see this happening.

TSV 07-14-2006 09:18 PM

ryder vs svatos... I'll do it, no doubt !! :handclap:

but svatos is going anywhere, they didn't trade tanguay for nothing... but hey, with their new GM, after the Tanguay deal, everything can happen in denver hehe :amazed:

he should shop him around in my opinion and for sure could had more in return ;)

No problem with either player. Getting Svatos means getting younger or trading a good prospect wich isn't that appealing.

goalchenyuk 07-14-2006 09:35 PM

:dainty: hey girls , what with your Ryder ???

The AVS first problem by now is in front of the net , 'cause THEOpenDOoR isn't a sure thing at all .

I would offer them Aebescher for Svatos ....:toothless :devdance:

paddy 07-14-2006 09:36 PM

Svatos is overrated and I wouldn't give Ryder for him. Let's see if he can repeat this next year.

How is he overrated?

ForsbergForever 07-14-2006 10:33 PM

Ryder: 6'1/195 - 26 y/o (81-30-25-55) RW
Svatos 5'9/170 - 24 y/o (61-32-18-50) RW

Both had injuries, only Ryder played through his and as a result his stats took a hit. I think it would be a mistake for the Habs to give up on him when he has such a huge upside, not to mention a height listed at over 6 feet and the ability to take a few hits.

hockeys future lists Svatos

Height: 5-11
Weight: 175 lbs

av's home page

http://www.coloradoavalanche.com/team/player.asp?PID=60

Height: 5-11
Weight: 175 lbs

Svatos was playing a average of 13 minutes a game and probally would have bagged close to 50 goals the pace he was on .that in it own right is something else

the guy has bigtime abilities . he can run and gun it end to end fast real soft hands he is like a snake .the guy is goona be something in the next few years . ryder is a totally diffrent style all together

Not talking about giving up on him...talking about replacing him with a younger better player...with more upside.

Artyukhin* 07-14-2006 11:02 PM

clic on Recent Video
there 4 pages of his goals .

when the windows media player comes up clic on "Play All"
it will play the entire page full of clips then you will have to go to page 2 and do the same thing .

you can also enlarge the video after it starts to play right clic on the screen and clic "zoom " .

you will see Ryder and Svatos are to very diffrent type of players . you will also see he isnt 5'9
