Devils looking for a backup for Gomez!!!!!
 

According to TSN http://tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= the Devils are willing to trade Gomez for a couple draft picks and a backup goalie.

Anyways, I don't see us dealing for Gomez

It's got me intrigued a little bit, I won't lie... but as always, I never expect the Habs to do anything when someone reports it beforehand.

I like Scott Gomez since he's rookie in the NHL.

But we got enough good forward, and that not the type of center we need.

I very like the offensive squad in MTL...

IMO, we just need another big defensmen.

Well it is exactly what the Devils need to do. They need to drop Gomez for drafts and or cheap players. So..............

Danis out, Locke out, Freland out, DesJardins in, Gomez in.

Does anybody else think it's ridiculous that the Devils would settle for just a draft pick or two and a backup goalie for Gomez? Especially when backups are really a dime a dozen.

Unfortunately Aebischer is not exactly what one would call a "low-cost" back-up goaltender.

The Devils will have 0 interest in acquiring a backup. The Devils backup will make $450k and will start 8 games a season. We are certainly not giving up Gomez for him.

And I'm sure not as dearly as alot of people are hoping, what Lou gets back for Gomez - if he was to trade him - depends not how desperate he is - if he is at all - but how big of a market there is. It's supply and demand man, if you guys, Phoenix, Colorado and the other teams who might be interested in Gomez will determine what Lou gets in return.

And if Lou can't get close to fair value for Gomez chances I'm sure he'll look to dump salary else where instead and wait till the trading deadline to see if he can get better value then considering there are probably going to be alot of teams who will feel that a rental of Gomez could put them over the top.

TSN posts rumors from newspapers all the time.

Frank Doyle or Scott Clemmensen will be the Devils backup next year, and they will be making the league minimum.

Seriously, the Devils are not paying Aebischer $2M to start 10 games.

Your absolutely right and they gots till Oct. 4 to do just that.

Actually if any year we are looking for a good backup for Marty it's this year, we can't play him 70 games anymore, the wear and tear is getting to much for him and they gotta cut it down to 55-60 games and I think they are going to try to shoot for that.

Yeah rumours are posted by many sources and tsn.ca is legit. We are not talking "Elephant man" here.
