Montreal's #9 Prospect by the Fans
Ryan O'Byrne wins poll #7

Its a long way from the start of the season, so lets to a poll of the top 20 Montreal prospects. Each poll will be open for 2 days, but i may start the next one sooner if there is a clear cut winner of one poll. 40/80 rule (40 vote lead, at least 80 total votes cast)

Danis at 25 and Cote at 24 are becoming too old to be considered prospects.

Next adds will be J.T. Wyman, Duncan Milroy. I will add them as we go, unless there is someone else people want to see added?? Or is there someone you will be ready to vote for soon and want moved up to the front of that list.

In case of a Tie as happened in poll #6 I will count Rookie votes manually so post those here as a tie breaker. They will only be counted on a tie, i will not manually count if the vote is won by a close margin.

1.) Andrei Kostitsyn
2.) Carey Price
3.) Guillaume Latendresse
4.) Kyle Chipchura
5.) Mikhail Grabovsky
6.) Alexi Emelin
7.) David Fischer
8.) Ryan O'Byrne
We are the PHC, prepare to be assimilated, Resistance is Futile.

This is where the polls get interesting IMO. We are definetely into the next tier of guys, long term prospects.

I'm gonna go with Kosty here slightly over this years two secound rounders.

Maxim Lapierre.

To me Kosty Jr. has to prove this year that his impressive point total from last year has more to do with his skill and less to do with the fact that he played on an offensive juggernaut.

Until he proves that, I'll go with Lapierre.

Maxwell has the better upside at this moment... Our both Q (Lapierre and Carle) are good choices too.

And don't forget Halak!

I love what I saw from Kostitsyn in London. Not just the points he put up and the offensive skills but what I find so impressive is how he drives to the net with the puck, is willing to go into high traffic areas with the puck at high speed and how he takes the body, throws some good hits for such a skinny guy.

Maitz 08-03-2006 02:25 PM

Siarhei Kostitsyn for sure

Stefan 08-03-2006 02:34 PM

I might be biased in that I go to lots of OHL games, but Kostitsyn's blown me away on numerous occasions. Now of course he's going to look fabulous playing for the Knights... but on the other hand, playing with Schremp has got to help his development.

Poochie_D 08-03-2006 02:36 PM

Ben Maxwell for me.

IcE ColD 08-03-2006 03:12 PM

Siarhei all the way baby!!

hab 08-03-2006 03:25 PM

I chose lappiere simply because he will be a NHL regular one day, weather he is fourth line or higher who knows, but that is worth more than a hit or miss offensive prospect

Team_Spirit 08-03-2006 03:28 PM

Maxim Lapierre

Russeltown 08-03-2006 04:30 PM

Sergei Kostitsyn

CH Wizard 08-03-2006 05:10 PM

For the third time, Halak.

Dr_Hook 08-03-2006 06:53 PM

I'll stick with Kost. I suspect things will begin to be very interresting in for the next picks: more diversity and less run away consensus picks...

didouche 08-03-2006 08:27 PM

Kostitsyn for me as well

halak is next

Talent Analyst 08-03-2006 09:11 PM

I can't chose between Matt D'Agostini and Ben Maxwell

Toro 08-03-2006 09:52 PM

I pick Halak. He is a sleeper with all the injury's and getting used to the NA game.

KaptainKourage* 08-06-2006 11:28 AM

So ? :dunno:

didjuicythat 08-06-2006 12:26 PM

Sergei Kostitsyn gets my vote. He's got great wheels to go along with solid playmaking skills and a goal scorer's shot. I think he has the potential to become a good point producer for the Habs. I believe he will have to work on consistency, and more importantly his strength in order to be able to do that though...
