Nolan Sign with Phoenix

http://www.rds.ca/hockey/chroniques/210803.html

1.25 millions/ 1 year

Shatmat* 08-16-2006 01:00 PM

Not much risk there. Phoenix can only benefits from this signature. Worst case scenario Nolan ends up on the 4th line or get injured.

pavlako11 08-16-2006 01:07 PM

Wasn't he asking for something like $2+ million?

At this point I think he should just retire already

tritone 08-16-2006 01:10 PM

Great low-risk deal for Phoenix, I would have taken Nolan at 1.25 in a heartbeat

well, phx is one of those destinations that alot of players would take a paycut to go to.

The weather is always great and you can golf whenever you want.

Plus, when wayne gretzky is interested in your services, how can you say no? ;)

I agree. They did some pretty good moves but the money they gave to Jovocop I still find is way to much

wholeshow* 08-16-2006 01:37 PM

i think jovo is getting more money than pronger. :biglaugh:

I agree. Their forwards are not that bad actually.

skoivu 08-16-2006 03:04 PM

I really like the team they got

Nagy - Comrie - Nolan
Reinprecht - Roenick - Doan
Saprykin - Scatchard - Sjostrom
Gratton - Ricci - Laraque

Those r 4 prety solid lines. Well i guess as long as Nolan and Roenick work out. Wich i think they will

Boynton Morris
Ballard Jovanoski

Im not too sure about the other 2 d in phoenix but thats a pretty solid d core.

If Joeseph can repeat last yrs performance i think the yotes are gonna be a team to look out for in the west.

HH 08-16-2006 03:05 PM

I think 1.25M$ is too much for a washed up guy whose last game was 2 and a half years ago.

JMMR 08-16-2006 03:23 PM

I do not believe he will do very muchut you never know it has been a long time since he has played!

wholeshow* 08-16-2006 03:28 PM

i just want to see nolan do the 'point' in the shootout. :)

calebj3000 08-16-2006 03:40 PM

pheonix could go either way this year. i like what they did and they could be really good but it all depends on a bunch of things
1. nagy and jovanovski stay healthy -- this is a must
2. roenick has a pretty good year
3. cujo plays the same (or better) than he did last year
4. nolan plays well enough to be a top six forward
if all of these happen, they have a chance to get home-ice advantage in the west
