Anyone see the Tootoo hit on Martinek? I just heard it via radio, and it sounded huge. If anyone gets a link to a video highlight reel for this game, please post it.

that hit was a liiiittle illegal..but he absolutely DEMOLISHED martinek. easily his biggest hit of the year...martinek has a concussion.

eh..i don't really cheer injuring players...but i guess he's on the team to make the big hits, and that's exactly what he did.

Somehow he didn't get a penalty called, could have very easily been 5 min major at the least possibly Game Misconduct for Attempt to Injure, he leaped off his feet & went for his head. I wouldn't be suprised if the lleague takes a look at the hit for a possible suspension

Hah, in Trotz's post-game he was quoted on the Tootoo hit, "well, uh, at first I don't even think he left his feet." There he goes again.

What a rude comment - another team's player gets a concussion (which you go to the trouble of emphasizing) and you go, "Attaway"? I think it's very pathetic that you think another teams' player getting seriously hurt is worthy of a :yo: . Very poor sportsmanship on your part, Preds.

I guess maybe he thought Tootoo took a quick sudden growth hormone and became 6'6 for a quick spirt.

Legitimate Hit?? Since when is leaving your feet going after a players head a clean hit???? I know you guys down in Nashille are new to hockey, but geez...

Seven Nation, hockey may be a fast sport, and $hit may happen, but that's no excuse for applauding another player getting hurt. I consider it lowest-common denominator behavior to think that way.

I only saw one person emphasize the hit, and no one saying it wasn't clean. Please do not encompass the whole fanbase based on one comment............ :teach:

I deleted that post because the guy who made the post I was responding to deleted it. Anyway that post was directed at the guy that said that it was a clean hit, I didn't mean to direct it at all Nashville fans.

Possible suspension? Intent to injure? Somehow I doubt that it is as much as you are making it out to be. I'll wait until I see the play to make my judgement, though. I dont think Tootoo intentionaly goes out to injure anyone. THe kid just loves to play, and plays with a lot of heart. Part of his game is laying those monster hits, but he isn't malicious or for the most part, dirty. Like I said, I really need to see the replay.

It wasn't a clean hit and he did leave his feet. I wish it was one of Tootoo's many clean hits that got Martinek. Unfortunately, it wasn't. It wasn't intent to injure any moreso than any other hit. It should have been 2 (possibly four if the ref is in a bad mood) for charging but nothing more. Chalk it up as a missed call in a game full of them. It's a shame that Martinek has a concussion. Here's to a speedy recovery.

By the way Tootoo is probably very lucky the Isles came back to make it a close game... Otherwise he would have probably been joining Martinek in the hospital
