Forecaster Top 75 stars of tomorrow

Linky

I believe the above list should be interesting to Habs fans.
Can't say I think too much of the the order they have many of the players placed in, some much too high and a few quite a bit lower then I'd have expected.

In any case, a number of current Habs prospects in the listing:

Kostistyn at 14, Higgens at 23, Komisarek at 30, Perezhogin at 44, Locke at 55, Korneev and Lambert at 74 & 75 respectively.

A few choice quotes:

Quote:

14. Andrei Kastsitsyn, RW/LW, CSKA Moscow (Russia) NHL Rights: Montreal Canadiens
2003-04 stats: 6 GP, 0-1-1, -, 2 PIM
The Belarusian winger has spent more time playing for CSKA's farm team so far.
Quote:

23. Christopher Higgins, C, Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL)
NHL Rights: Montreal Canadiens
2003-04 stats: 8 GP, 4-2-6, +2, 6 PIM
It won't be long before Higgins becomes a regular, all-around contributor in Montreal.
Quote:

30. Mike Komisarek, D, Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL)
NHL Rights: Montreal Canadiens
2003-04 stats: 12 GP, 1-4-5, +1, 39 PIM
Komisarek should be in Montreal right now but veteran contracts keep the bruiser in the "A".

The scary part is that Parise and Stewart are both ahead of Kastitsyn.

Come on, this thing sucks. Crosby and Ovechkin 1 and 2? Ok, they might be, but how can you take seriously a mag that falls to overhype like this? So Crosby and Ovechkin are 1 and 2 and no other prospect from 2004-2005 makes the puking list?!

So euh.... guys, could we conclude you know Ov and Croz from the hype and know absolutely nothing about the upcoming drafts?

Can't understand why they felt the need to include those two, it ruins any credibility they might have hope for by putting out this (anyway) crap.

Interesting to see korneev, i always thought he sounded like he could be good, But i would have never thought they would have put him in the top 75

It was nice to see all those Habs prospects in there but i was surprised to see Hainsey wasn't metioned.

I can't believe Lambert is even listed. Ahead of Urquhart? Korpikari? Ferland? Milroy or Lapierre? That's just a terrible listing, IMO.

I also find the order and the pool of players chosen quite puzzling. It's difficult to compare a young, undrafted prospect like Crosby to more developed, drafted prospects. There's been plenty of phenom 16 year olds that collapse and have their development stunted by their draft year.

I find Stewart, Babchuk and Perry's ratings to be quite puzzling. Other prospects who I like, such as Steen, Mirnov, and Fleischmann don't belong anywhere near Komisarek IMO.

But we'll see in a few years.

What credibility does a prospects list have that puts Stewart at Nr10. How does a player that hasnt played a single game in the NHL after being drafted Nr25 last year deserve to be a top10 player of the future??? Do these guys know something 24 other team head scouts didnt? :dunno:

I was sort of wondering why guys like Perry and Stewart are on the list while guys like Horton and Staal aren`t. I thought they were just naming guys who haven`t played in the NHL but Komisarek has played more NHL games than Horton or Staal...what`s the deal?

I totally forgot about those 2 players...yeah whats up with that? Horton and Stall will be bigger impact players than most of those listed.
