Comrie will have to keep waiting, Lowe not needed to make a big rush into any deal involving Comrie as of yet because of the Oates signing.

Wow! What a day. Oates signs, and Klemm is trading. Action/counter-action. THis makes the playoff race that much more interesting.

Its very ironic that Lowe wouldn't give Comrie a pay raise, because his "talent had tapered off". Yet they sign Oates, whose talent has definitely tapered off. I wonder what the contract is worth. IMO it better be low, or Lowe *haha I just used low back to back* has a lot of explaining to do.

Great move by the Oil though.

The Comrie situation is more personal than practical. There's bad blood between Comrie and Lowe due to something (I can't remember) that happened last year in the playoffs.

Comrie's holdout is not due to money, this signing just proves it. Sportsnet is saying Oates signed for $2million, I'm sure Comrie would have played for $3.5million. This problem with Comrie and the Oilers is not about money because clearly the Oilers had a extra cash laying around.
