Official Game Thread: NYR-SJ

Need two points tonight. San Jose is winless at home (don't know if that bodes well or not).

Post 'em if you got 'em.

Bluenote13 11-18-2003 12:37 PM

Since i'll be up late & watching my first full game of the season, they'll blow it.

4-3 SJ in OT.

rangers 11-18-2003 01:13 PM

Jussi will either be fantastic or terrible....It could go both ways :dunno:

LiquidClown 11-18-2003 01:25 PM

Well with the way things went today, i'm gonna say an all out blowout
6-1 San Jose gets their first win at home, which spurns a 10 game undefeated streak, which is only made possible by playing the lowly Rangers...

Remember ..... THINGS CAN ONLY GET WORSE!

Evil Sather 11-18-2003 02:37 PM

Just as a slap to our faces, I think the Rangers win, 4-2. We get outplayed most of the game but land an empty netter so it seems better. Goaltending bails us out again.

Remember. These type of things usually get broken against the Rangers.

Son of Steinbrenner 11-18-2003 03:02 PM

a rangers win tonight no doubt about it.

4-3 come from behind victory!

King Nothing* 11-18-2003 03:02 PM

Welp, what I way to start a downward spiral. Lose to a team that is winless at home. Excellent!

This is a must-win, but you have a point in that the Rangers tend to be streak-breakers of the worst kind.

nyr5186 11-18-2003 04:02 PM

Nils Ekman will score in overtime to give San Jose their first home win, 5-4.

No, not at all, but it's just after 7 years of nonsense I would figure there to be no confidence in anyone since they have not improved the team at all this year.

dedalus 11-18-2003 04:54 PM

Another 2-2 tie. The Rangers will blame the travel and short rest for their inability to score.

I would have to say we will lose this one due to the team getting a hold of some bad fish for dinner.

Sather: "You know it happens. People get food poisoning. It is unexpected. Kovalev tried to play as well as he could but that's how it goes. I told him not to have the shark. It is a bad omen. I wouldn't be surprised if the SJ Sharks had the fish poisoned. I will get to the bottom of this as soon as a play 18 in Banff."

Son of Steinbrenner 11-18-2003 06:12 PM

if we play like this the rest of the game we should win!

Hire Sather 11-18-2003 06:39 PM

nice effort, 2 quickies.

Anyone wanna take a shot at trivia.. i think its Barnaby or Todd Harvey (im not sure if jd said it was a current ranger, or a current nhl player)

majicpixie 11-18-2003 06:54 PM

I've been looking forward to this game. The Sharks are my other N-team. It sounds like Ortmeyer's doing well. I'd like to see Chad play against the Sharks. :D Good luck to LaBarbera! He's up against Toskala, another one of our Cleveland guys. It's too bad Patrick Rissmiller isn't playing for the Sharks tonight, he's my sister's boy. ;)

Hire Sather 11-18-2003 07:27 PM

ah.. another lead in the 3rd period in san jose. Fasten your seatbelts.

rangers 11-18-2003 07:42 PM

Fy faen... What is happening there? We seem to have lost all jump. SJ wins every faceoff and has been all over us in the 3rd. Time too wake up, boys!!

Way to choke guys.

This team is a joke, where are all those Sather pom poms?

GKJ 11-18-2003 08:01 PM

For the record, now that the Sharks are getting a power play with 1:20 left in overtime, it's a good time to not San Jose has yet to win at home.
