Higgins (merged)

What line do you expect him to play on this year? And how many goals/points is realistic for him this year?

Thanks!

cant see the lines working as they are( have not been great in preseason)

I could see higgins with robiero and ryder or higgins koivu kovalev....

we could call it the reunion tour. but then again, alongside pleky on the third would be great too....

nevermind, I dont know:dunno:

I see the Higgins-Koivu-Ryder line staying together again this year.

They looked very good in the preseason. This guy is a fantastic player to watch and he does everything right. Works hard at both ends of the rink, good vision, goes into the corners etc...Basically he's and excellent partner for Koivu and Ryder.

I could honestly see something 25 goals and 35 assists for Higgins if he stays healthy and plays with Ryder and Koivu all year and gets some good PP time. I think this year he'll firmly establish himself as an excellent two-way guy.

Marksman 09-29-2006 10:45 AM

Higgins Koivu Ryder is the only line we have working consistently and producing. Breaking them apart would be stupid. I'm expecting little over 5o points, evenly between goals and assists.

Lestriker 09-29-2006 10:50 AM

34 Goals - 31 Assists - 65 Points

x6 Pacioretty 7x 09-29-2006 12:17 PM

1st line

25-30 goals and 50-60 points

Poochie_D 09-29-2006 12:30 PM

30 goals, 50 points. Our best defensive forward.

Habsfan18 09-29-2006 12:41 PM

Most likely all year on the top line.

I think 30 goals and 65 points is very realistic :yo:

IF HE SCORES anywhere close to the pace he was at in the second half of last season, then 40-30 is easily attainable. I expect him to play with Koivu and Ryder for most of the season, but he'll probably play with everyone in the top 9 at some point.

Le Maroons 09-29-2006 01:14 PM

First line mostly with Koivu and Ryder, hopefully he doesn't lose too much powerplay time to other wingers like Kovalev, Samsonov, Ryder, Perezhogin, Latendresse, Johnson. I'd say 25-30 goals, 50-60 points is realistic.

beowulf 09-29-2006 01:20 PM

3rd line 40 pts.

imnothere 09-29-2006 02:04 PM

First/Second
25-30/20-30 => 45-60 points.

Barring injuries to our forwards I'd think he stays on the top line all year. That line works. If it ain't broken ....

Injuries to any forward on the top 2-3 lines could cause a shake up though, it's impossible to say.

habs_24x 09-29-2006 02:47 PM

1st line and 70 pts

Live Forever 09-29-2006 02:49 PM

I say a 55 point season for Higgins is definitely in reach if playing on the first line.

White Snake* 09-29-2006 03:28 PM

I think he can be more of a playmaker then he has shown. 32 goals and 37 assists. may be a little high but I have faith. :)

Sorry was reading all this Latendresse stuff and was not paying attention :banghead: 1st line and 60 pts imo. I was thinking Latendresse 3rd line with 40 or so pts.

Double XX L 09-29-2006 04:04 PM

I am going on a limb to say that PP time will be limited, so I would expect anywhere between 30-50 points for Higgs... He's going to play PK I bet... but the PP will be dominated by others... like Samsonov, and Latendresse to name a few,..

Talent Analyst 09-29-2006 04:54 PM

First line : 30 goals , 30 assists .

I'll take that bet.

Chris Higgins (merged)

The guy was drafted as a center, he's 6"0 / 6"1 and over 200lbs this year, he's good with the puck, has good speed, can play very well defensilvy and he's able to put the puck in the net, I know he's awesome with Koivu and Ryder but this guy could be our center #2... Did he ever play center with the habs? What do you guys think?

didouche 10-01-2006 03:27 PM

he hasn't played center since college because he sucks at face-offs... he could play center if needed but we are fine right now the koivu line is working why break it
