tricolore jusqu'au bout!

White Snake* 10-07-2006 11:58 AM

I want to kill em. No prisoners.

Prediction: Habs lead 5-1 at 2nd intermission, then Tucker comes out elbowing in the 3rd. Kovalev then plays part of superman and takes him out AGAIN!

RE-HABS 10-07-2006 12:05 PM

My predictions:

Leafs and Habs have a shootout, high scoring game tonight.

Montreals team speed will expose Leafs gaffs of sigining Hal Gill and others, Montreal will make them look sick with players like Sammy totally embarrases the Leafs D tonight with his moves and speed by having a multiply point night.

Latendresse scores 1st career NHL goal tonight against the dreaded and hated Hab rival.

1st line of Ryder/Koivu/Higgins don't miss a beat and pick up from last nights game by the "Big Line" coming up BIG once again!

Abby plays well and gets the win to make Coach Carbo's life difficult in who to play or make GM Gainey's life easier in a possible trade option.

Overall I don't expect to see the same great game we saw last night (that game felt like a plyoff game), but I do expect to see a lot of scoring and some intensity.

GO HABS GO!!!!!

Is there any way to listen to CBC on the internet ? If anyones knows please help an expatriate fan in Europe !

Ross MacLochness 10-07-2006 12:11 PM

If we aren't too tired from last night (which we shouldn't be) we could dominate the Leafs tonight.

The defence should continue to jump up in the play. Markov and Dandenault especially.

I want to see more hitting from the Begin line.

Kovalev should be better tonight. He owns Raycroft.

Skitz_514 10-07-2006 12:12 PM

Iím hoping to see a little hostility out there, Komi Sourray and the 4th line better bring out there physical game. I expect the first line to click well again tonight, the Kovy line to step it up a few notches from last nights game and the 4th line to get more minutes then last night.

We need to continue the great Penalty Killing from last night especially if we take a lot of stupid penaltyís, use our speed in the neutral zone and the Defense better be ready to clear those rebounds which Abeisher gives a lot of.

Habs take the first of 8 tonight :yo:

HankyZetts 10-07-2006 12:15 PM

6-3 habs
higgins and koivu putting on another show!

ChemiseBleuHonnete 10-07-2006 12:36 PM

I think this will be exactly like the game against Buffalo but we'll end up winning. I think we will win this one 5-4 in ot or so.

I expect the first line to be good again, at least one goal from one of our D and a few softies from Aebischer. Sundin, Steen, Kubina and Wellwood with the goals for the leafs.

HH 10-07-2006 01:22 PM

I'm not good at predictions, habs will play better and will win if the defence tightens up a bit, leafs arn't as quick at the sabres and their defence is slow so our speedy forwards have to take advantage of that often. Aebischer needs to be strong on the PK.

One Trick Pony 10-07-2006 01:23 PM

9-0 Habs!

Blades 0f Steel 10-07-2006 01:29 PM

If the Leafs lose, they'll blame it on the reffing. If they win, they'll say it's because the Habs suck. :sarcasm:

Isn't that asking for lots ?

Pssh. That's loser talk.

tinyzombies 10-07-2006 01:38 PM

This is going to be a very difficult game.

1. Homer reffing. Toronto had all the calls (and non-calls) in their home opener, but still lost. They always, always, always get the calls in Toronto, especially against Montreal. Another poster showed the stats on that. So we should be prepared for that.

2. Raycroft is playing extremely well.

3. Toronto has a very difficult schedule to open the season, so they'll be going hard tonight.

But Toronto is playing their third game in four nights, and we're on a back-to-backer, so the energy level should be even.

Hard to judge where Toronto is at because Ottawa just went to sleep on Thursday and Gerber was terrible.

Toronto had trouble getting it out of their zone on Wednesday and couldn't get to the net. They shot more on Thursday and Gerber basically gave them the game. Toronto also took a lot of bad penalties the last couple nights. Tucker especially. Hooking and slashing penalties. Hopefully that continues.

I think we'll kick their butts from what I saw of us last night. Our four lines are a handful to deal with. We're good...

Go Habs Go

I think that helps our chances tonight.

Nice GDT :) Here's hoping that you guys don't complain too much if we win ;)

And also here's hoping to an action packed entertaining game!
