Makes sense. Huet didn't play badly, but like Carbo said... both goalies are gunning for the #1.

The Saurus 10-07-2006 11:39 AM

Judging by Huet's play lastnight, this makes the Leafs job a little easier.

Ross MacLochness 10-07-2006 11:39 AM

I haven't been impressed with Abby since we got him.

A solid night against the leafs will change everything.

ChuckyToGally 10-07-2006 11:49 AM

I'm not sold on Aebi but I can say the same for Huet...

Let's say the truth, Huet didn't have a good game last night. He has to do the key saves...

I wish to be wrong but I expect a "so so" season for both of them...

:shakehead

RE-HABS 10-07-2006 11:51 AM

I'm thinking Abby may be getting more than tonights start, Huet looked like he pulled something in last nights shoot-out.

Huet played great for the Habs, if he wasn't hurting I believe he starts tonight.

Abby will play well, he needs to prove he can be the #1 too.

JrHockeyFan 10-07-2006 11:52 AM

Hmmm

I hope Huet didn't tweak something on that shoot out save. He didn't look quite right on the next two shots

not a big fan of abby but I have to say this:
you weren't impressed when he played very well against the senators last year?

White Snake* 10-07-2006 12:04 PM

This was a no brainer

Huet > Aebi. I'm disappointed that you couldn't grasp the point I was trying to make.

He understood what you meant...

He's just saying if Huet was solid yesterday...it doesn't mean Aebisher will suck and make the leafs job easier tonight. We can't really know both were sucked in pre-season.

That's not what I meant either.

Huet at his best > Aebi at his best. Even if Aebi plays his best, it'll still be easier for the Leafs to score goals.

PyrettaBlaze 10-07-2006 12:42 PM

****.. I really wanted to see Huet play tonight. I found he did a great job last night, I hope he didn't pull anything during the shootout :help:

Bleh I guess putting in Aebi could be a good thing too. Huet can't play every single game of the season, we'll have to put Aebi in sometime.. so this will be good for him.

You just said Huet>Aebi in your post...

We all want the Huet of last year...but that's why we've both...Huet at his best is better but we've seen both at their worse in the pre-season...

Whatever...let's hope Aebi gets a shutout tonight.:p:

TheHoser 10-07-2006 12:52 PM

Looks like Huet is hurt after all...

Ghost of Saku 10-07-2006 01:03 PM

I remember reading something last week in the Gazette possibly that stated that Carbo would use both goalies in back-to-back game situations throughout the season unless one guy posted a shutout or was on a real momentum swing, so Abby it nets tonight makes sense. If Huet was actually hurt it'd be all over the media. He'll be fine.

Guy Caballero 10-07-2006 01:07 PM

Huet's hurt for sure. There's no way they wouldn't start him tonight if he wasn't. I imagine it's not serious, though.

You'd think someone would have said something no?

He didn't look good in the final 2 shots, but he could have pulled somthing but woke up this morning and been perfectly fine.

HUET said last night he was cramping up really bad he was trying to fight thru it .

probally goona give him the day off

habs86 10-07-2006 02:57 PM

i think it is good to have a little bit of a fight for the top dog placing.

i hope huet is not hurt, but i also like the idea that we would so be stronger if both our tenders were ready to play on a drop of a dime.

should be a gooder tonight boys
