ESPN Article: Sophomore predictions

Lundqvist and Prucha mentioned. Dont really like Prucha's "Sophomore Star" status....

It's really hard...
to predict what Prucha will do this season. I think what we've seen thus far is a kid who's matured and is adjusting to his role. Even though he's pretty solid on the second line, his ice time is not solidified, especially on the PP. That will no doubt hurt his goal total, some of which could be mitagated by him playing with Shanny and Cullen, if that line stays in tact. Watching him last night was disappointing because he was working hard and playing well, but just not getting the ice time (and moved to the third line to spark offense, which to me, didn't make a heck of a lot of sense). How Renney plays him will likely determine his production. His three assists weren't exacly 'gimmes'.

I agree. I dont think labeling him as "plateuing" as the author did is appropriate. Maybe its just me, but I think it's still early enough for him to improve his game.

I don't know...
if you're going to see him scoring more goals, but I think you'll see more assists and a more well-rounded game. So I'd agree that plateauing's a bit harsh. I think we're already seeing an improvement in his overall game.

"Ryan Craig
A native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, the 255th pick in the 2002 draft came out of nowhere to score 15 goals in 48 goals in the last half of 2005-06 for the Tampa Bay Lightning. "

Its says expectations are dramatically different in new york and buffalo, not sure about that...

His role will be different this year as will the way Renney plays him and it will cost him some goals due to the amount of ice time he may not get, but that shouldn't take away from the player he's become. It may actually hurt him in the long run that he has matured and gotten better, because that may be a reason why Tom feels that he can "misuse' him in different stuations.

i'd agree with the arrticle in regards to Prucha... if he becomes a point a game player we should all be thrilled.
