OT: Another Roy in making ?

Esche has given up 9 goals on 29 shots...he is still in the net.

coolguy21415 10-17-2006 08:16 PM

Holy crap you're right. How embarassing for both Esche and Hitchcock. Good way to send a message that you don't care about your players.

Ryan O'Byrne 10-17-2006 08:27 PM

that's great news I should win my bet then :yo:

this is not good for philly if the players turn against hitchcock.

GoodKiwi 10-17-2006 08:29 PM

He's still in net only because Hitchcock is pissed off at his pre-game comment.

something about his coaches head being empty

something to that effect

Jypee 10-17-2006 08:35 PM

What did he say before the game?

Forget it, Pednault just told it.

Esche had an assist, though!

Esche > Forsberg

coolguy21415 10-17-2006 08:58 PM

What do you think? Esche + Richards for Aebischer + Perezhogin + prospect? Doesn't have to be Richards, is Umberger worth more/less? I was thinking it'd be a way to improve depth down the middle, so we'd probably need to dump a winger.

znk 10-17-2006 08:58 PM

Nit has a busted hip so there was no point putting him in. Also Hesche passed some odd comments on the coach...so yeah....just stay in the nets.
Anyway he's the backup so there is no "Roy in the making" here.

Nuts to that...I'd rather have Abby

I just wish Esche to be the farthest away from Montreal possible, he's probably pissed off because he's not the starter and want to be traded.

Dr_Hook 10-17-2006 09:30 PM

Esche is out of there. Hitch just signed an extension and Esche has problems stopping beach balls. They will trade him away and go get another keeper. I can't believe how bad Philly suck at this point. They basically have the same core than last year don't they ? And they did pretty well with it in the regular season, before getting their tails handed to them by Buffalo in the playoffs ... Man Lindy's squad really got their number :biglaugh:

ti-vite 10-17-2006 09:32 PM

There is a little difference between Roy and Esche. One was a head case with Stanley Cups, the other just a head case.

znk 10-17-2006 09:34 PM

Just saw the hilights. Damn....ulgy. Buffalo was toying with the flyer's D.

Except that in the offseason, other teams got faster. Whereas the Flyers just got older and slower.

Esche'll get traded for sure and I sure hope he winds up somewhere in our division :)

Souffle 10-17-2006 10:58 PM

That was an ugly game. I'm expecting Clarke to make a move soon. It's still Hitchcock's team, so the players will be accountable. I was wondering whether Forsberg might come up in trade talks. Already there's scrutiny on him for not stepping up more as captain, and he's UFA after this season. Obviously it's pure speculation, but Clarke is a fearless trader who won't watch his team swirl around the bowl for long.

White Snake* 10-17-2006 11:14 PM

At least Esche has the balls to be a man about it. Any habs fan that was at the Forum that night knows how I feel about Roy. Great goalie but a little sissy. He embarassed himself that night more with his attutude then his perfomance.

White Snake* 10-17-2006 11:16 PM

As for Mike Richards, he has been overhyped. I used to work with his aunt and during the lockout she was worried about the hype he was getting knowing he would not be able to live up to it. Poor guy. He is a Mike Johnson type player at his best. Dont expect more.

Habitants 10-17-2006 11:25 PM

:biglaugh: yeah flyers D looked terrible, buffalo just skatting circles around them. buffalo is scary good:amazed:

I want him close to Montreal. Somewhere like Ottawa, or Boston, maybe...

Clumsyhab 10-18-2006 01:51 AM

Esche comment on Hitch starting him vs Sabres:
