higgins 40??

I really believe that chris Higgins can hit 40 goals this season if he stays with koivu and ryder all year. Seriously it's not juste a good time for him he's been playing that well since he's with koivu last year, last year after the olympic break he as scored 16 goals in 26 games only cheechoo as done better. Higgins as being playing like this in the post season and in the pre season also, and for the 6 games he as played this years so far.So what do you think about that?

wade 10-19-2006 02:13 PM

i think he deserves a raise from 673,000$

DicAnns 10-19-2006 02:16 PM

possible? Yes

30-35 is more realistic, but 40 isn't out of reach if he and both his linemates stay healthy. I'd be quite surprised though.

JMMR 10-19-2006 02:16 PM

Oh he will get his raise don't you worry!
As for Higgins scoring 40 its possible and I would love to see it happen but I am sure he will have a slump or two this season!

Shabutie 10-19-2006 02:17 PM

I think he'll at least hit the 40 mark. Call it a bold prediction, but the way he's playing I don't see him getting anything less.

Tusk 10-19-2006 02:40 PM

Yeah, it's crazy, he just keeps getting better and better, at all aspects of the game. The sky's the limit with him.

Habs 4 Life 10-19-2006 02:41 PM

The more I watch him play the more he is becoming my favorite player. This year im getting a new jersey with his name on the back.

I don't know about 40,but im sure he can hit the 30.It's sucks cause last night alone he should have goten at least 3!!!

Chris Higgins will be our next Captain

pavlako11 10-19-2006 02:58 PM

The way he's playing now combined with the way he played the last half of last season I wouldn't be totally shocked if he did. He's been on a tear!

tritone 10-19-2006 02:59 PM

He's on pace for 56 goals right now. 40 is definitely attainable.

SOLR 10-19-2006 03:02 PM

Great start, can we have 3-4 more higgins plz? :biglaugh:

Pascal 10-19-2006 03:03 PM

I predict 41.

book it

I agree with all your statements.... i love chris higgins!!!!

Teufelsdreck 10-19-2006 03:16 PM

He has a shot at 40--IF he stays on the same line. Those fans who suggest putting him on another line would handicap Higgins and hurt the team.

Clumsyhab 10-19-2006 06:10 PM

Higgins has 20 goals in his last 32. That's 51 goals for a 82 game season. I predict 38 for this year. Mark my words.

KaptainKourage* 10-19-2006 06:24 PM

38 goals is my guess.
38 goals - 32 assists - 70 points.

terreur 10-19-2006 06:38 PM

i pretty sure he'll have 35... 40 isn't out of reach but is pretty high...

Talent Analyst 10-19-2006 07:57 PM

Higgins is overpay ;) ...........:sarcasm:

If he stay consistent all year and score 30 or higher i don't see any problems signing him for a 15 years contract :dunce: no seriously i would give him 2,5 for 3 years if he scores 30 goal and more than 50 points and 3 to 3,5 millions for 3 or 4 years if he scores 40 and get more than 70 points.

Evil Ted 10-19-2006 08:09 PM

If Koivu stays healthy I would be happy if he got 30, 40 could be a stretch, but who knows.

It all depends on the often under-appreciated Koivu.

Personally I wouldn't mind signing Higgins to a 10+ year deal.

Its possible.... but lets not bring this up for a little while

Chad Kilger is on pace for 40 goals as of this moment too.

BTW, if higgins gets 40 this season... he will ask for bergeron money.... their rookie point totals are identical and if higgins cores 40, he'll probably be in the 70 point range... just like bergeron's 2nd season. If I'm his agent, I use bergeron's deal as a benchmark. Not great news for our cap... but thats reality.

Ipousse Lapuck 10-19-2006 10:23 PM

I think Higging could score 45-50 goals and 40 assists if he, Koivu and Ryder all stay healty. Remember that he's still one the same pace as last year after the olympics so I think he can keep it for the season. plus he plays a great defensive game and goes in the corners :handclap:  He's a really special player. I'm sure he'll be our next concession player

ShuttFan 10-19-2006 11:57 PM

I sure hope so. I picked him up in the 22nd (last) round of the pool I'm in.

I hope there are only four or five people in that pool.

BLNY 10-20-2006 06:31 AM

Chris has the work ethic and talent to do it. Whether the line can click for a whole season is another story. If, and it's always a big if, Saku can play 75 games the possibility is there. Without him production will drop.

As was stated above, I think 30-35 is more realistic.
