Samsonov asking for a trade ?

According to RDS, Samsonov might ask for a trade if things don't change...

Wow, calm down little Sammy! :help:

What is his trade value ? A pick ? Another overpaid player ?

«J'ai appris tout juste avant le match que j'allais jouer avec Bonk et Johnson et ce fut une belle surprise, a-t-il raconté. Je comprends que l'entraîneur cherche à former de meilleures combinaisons à l'attaque. Il n'y a que le premier trio qui produit régulièrement...Nous avons obtenu quelques bonnes chances de marquer, dont une dès notre première présence. C'est encourageant»

I found out just before the game that I was going to play with Bonk and Johnson and It was a pleasant surprise. I understand that the coach it trying find the best possible line combinations becuase right now we only have 1 line that is producing on a regular basis...We obtained some quality scoring chances...starting with one on our first shift together. This was encouraging

Well Phoenix might want another overpaid veteran....;) , I would take Nagy out of their hands....

Or Florida might be tired already of Nathan Horton.....;) ;)

More seriously, he's not going anywhere, just find it funny when a player ask for a trade that he knows that by doing that, his value just drop to the lowest.....

Honestly I want samsonov to do well in a hab jersey, I love the talent he has but I hate the attitude hes bringin to the montreal canadiens. If he wants out and the habs end up trading him than I wouldent be impresed with samsonov. Honestly this kind of attitude is not good for a locker room. I find hes really weak by saying stuf like that when its only the first month of the season. Theres alot of young players in this dressing room and if I was carbo I would bench him for a game tell he brings the right attitude for this team. If I was in samsonov place I would say stuf like. "Theres nothing I can do about this situation but work hard and prouve that I do belong on the second line." Thats how a veteran would off said it. Samsonov got to learn that hes not doing himself any favors behaving this way in montreal. Fans can turn on you quickly.

I guess playing in boston all these years, in a loosing atmosphere would make you say some crazy things

And again, 2 medias, 2 different stories 'cause this one doesn't seem like a guy asking for a trade. I tell you guys, we need more medias to be sure to get the stories straight....:sarcasm:

Samsonov=the weekest Link.= Goodbye

I hate it when RDS.ca does stuff like this.

It's not uncommon for them to translate quotes improperly or to twist the words around just a little bit in the translation so that it's not wrong, but taken out of context. They do it all the time. They'll take one little quote a player says in english and when they put it in French it's sort of wrong, but not enough that you can accuse them of fabrication. I'm not saying they do it on purpose, but I find they often put things out of context.

In this case, where is their quote? Samsonov might asked to be traded "Le joueur russe, qui a marqué deux buts et récolté deux aides depuis le début de la saison, n’a pas exclu la possibilité de demander une transaction si les choses ne changent pas.". You can't just come out and say things like that without an actual quote. And you can't use a quote like "I don't know why they signed me to such a big contract to sit on the bench..." as justification.

Until he comes out and says it himself, it's just speculation imo.

Now if he does come out and say he wants to be traded, then he's a bum.

MathMan 10-27-2006 02:36 PM

The Boston Globe started it, and TSN picked it up, and I guess now RDS does. Controversy makes for good copy.

Not necessarily anything to it beyond Sammy's understandable anger at a demotion to the 4th line. He sounds fairly happy with his current linemates. He had decent icetime despite playing on the nominal third against Boston and I expect to see it continue.

Everybody should be happy...

Now can we pass over the "Sammy story"

well...the original article stating that he (or his agent) had asked for a trade was written BEFORE last nights game...this article from CANOE was from AFTER the game last night

I wouldn't mind personnaly, Perezhogin, Latendresse and Kostitsyn will soon be ready to step in. The sad point is that wingers is the thing non team needs. The rare players are good Dmens and Cmens.

Seems like RDS is taking quotes that were used before yesterday's game. In the Friday version of TSN ice chips Samsonov is quoted as saying he wants things to work out.

Speaking of Booolish he was benched by Vigneault in the 3rd last game for the Canucks. So much for the 35 goal predictions from Canucks fans during the summer.

type_v 10-27-2006 02:55 PM

Either I'm EXTREMELY rusty in french or the article says:

"Samsonov has not stated that he doesn't want to be traded"

Which is quite far from him saying he does want to be traded, merely that there is no quote at all. Does rds expect him to come out evey day and say "I don't want to leave Montreal"? They're just blowing things out of proportion.

VladNYC* 10-27-2006 02:58 PM

RDS is full of ****!

No it's more like if the journalists asked him if he was ready to ask for a trade and he didn't said that it wasn't a possibility.

basically it says that he will not rule out the possibility of asking for a trade if things dont change.

Like someone stated above, it's his agent that is threatening to demand for a trade

lennywebster 10-27-2006 03:06 PM

he will stay .. i really love him as a player .. there's only 9 games played .. no alarm yet .. he will bounce back .. he scored only ONE goal in his first 7 games last seasons .. 9 in his first 20 games .. not that bad .. let him some time!

Walnut Grove?

I'm working in Port Kells right now.

I can't say that I didn't warn my Canucks friends about Bulis.
