OT:Richter gets political

Mike Richter's next career move might be into politics

Quote:

Three years into retirement, Richter, the father of three children, is almost as busy as he was in his puck-stopping days. He's in his third year at Yale, majoring in Ethics/Politics/Economics. He's on the board of RiverKeeper, an environmental organization dedicated to protecting the Hudson River. Democratic insiders in Westchester County, where Richter and his family lived through the latter part of his career, have made it known that they consider Richter, a registered Democrat, an attractive candidate.

"People mentioning that is a testament to how few good people are in office," Richter said, laughing. Still, he doesn't discount the possibility.

"I've left my plate open to see what's out there, what's possible," Richter said. "One of the reasons I wanted to go back to school was to expand those possibilities

I remember Richter making some really sound comments on the state of the world a while back. He where critizised in the media for it. Though he is defenitly a very bright person.

Good for you, Mikey. You'd have my vote if I still lived in NY.

Hmm intresting, he is a good public speaker, but he just keeps going and going lol. I remember listening to his interviews and he would just keep going on and on, Sam and JD would have to cut him off half the time.

I wasnt trying to knock Richter, I was just making an observation that he is a talkative guy.:)

More on that at Blueshirt Bulletin:

Anyway I think Mike would excel in this field too if that's what he puts his mind to doing.

He made comments after 9/11 when everyone wanted to bomb Afghanistan into the stone age

In PR we always loved Richter and feared him.

Loved him because he's a bright guy, an very good speaker and a pleasure to work with.

Feared him because you had to keep him on course or else the guy could give a 5 hour lecture on one or two questions.

Always one of my all-time favorites.

Maybe he can save the Loons at Tupper lake.

RICHTER is wayyy brighter than that other loser who "attended Yale".

Richter for president.
