He was playing for Detroit when the Habs obtained him.

LOL! That was a good one, too. The Habs should make deals with the Leafs more often...

crif 12-09-2006 10:59 PM

Didn't Gilmour play only one game, IIRC against the flames, after the trade? For a 6th rounder, I felt pretty bad.

Yeah, I seem to recall him not getting too far as well.

I still remember that trade deadline. The Leafs re-acquire Gilmour was a focal point for the coverage of HockeyCentral (with the all-Leafs panel). What a shame that the panel spent more time talking about the trade, than Gilmour's actual time contributed to the team

I think thats what NewGuy meant by 4:51.Meaning 4 minutes and 51 seconds worth of Gilmour for a 6th round pick..

antidot 12-09-2006 11:14 PM

Wasn't there a D**k Duff for Don Marshall way back when. Of course that was with very few teams in the league. In the early 80s there was Michel Larocque traded for I don't remember what. Dan Daoust for I don't remember what again. Robert Picard traded to Montreal. I think Gaston Gingras might of been involved in that one. In the 80s, it was easier because the two teams were in diferent conferences. Lateley, the only trade that comes to mind is Gilmour's cup of tea. I remember Sylvain Lefebvre going to the dark side also, I can't remember what for or if it was a waiver pick up. I think it might have been a draft pick coming our way.

It was a period and a shift. You can actually still get the shift chart for that game on NHL.com. It was too bad that Gilmour's career ended that way though. It would have been better if his last shift in the NHL didn't involve Dave Lowry skating backwards into him and ripping up his knees.

I'm really hoping Your_Rogers_Bill can pop his head in one of these days to offer his keen insight.

Doug Jarvis for Greg Hubick (?) . Laffs drafted Jarvis and immediately traded
him to Montreal for Hubick ( if not Hubick , some other marginal player.
