Halak's 5th Shutout of Season!!

I think this deserves it's own thread. Halak's 5th shutout of the season in only 14 games i believe. Crazy! He now has 8 shutouts in about 27 games in his AHL career!

Sounds like Huet of last year

Blades 0f Steel 12-10-2006 07:08 PM

Don't forget: goals by Kostitsyn and Grabovski.

Halak is a monster!

Nova_Scotia_Vees 12-10-2006 07:10 PM

Yeha man Halak/Kost and Grabs are playing great...A good sign for our future.

koyo 12-10-2006 07:12 PM

I am a big fan of Halak. He comes from my hometown. I really hope he gets a chance to play in the NHL. He is still very young. I was wondering when there would a thread on him. ;)

amazing...how many saves? anyone see the game?

CH Wizard 12-10-2006 07:41 PM

From the two games I've seen, Hamilton ain't really sharp defensively. I'd say the team is pretty average defensively. He allowed two goals from the point against the Marlies, he should work on that but overall he's good. Nice positioning, he's always where he should be and never out of place. He doesn't get beat upstairs really often. Would like to see him called up like before the season ends.

Bratislava, Slovakia.

I wonder if the SENIOR slovakian team is taking notice.

Yeah, Halak is super young but he may already be the national team's number 1 goalie.

I dont even know who was/is their #1 guy right now

Phousse 12-10-2006 09:25 PM

Halak > Huet > Fuhr > Hebert > Roy > Potvin > Hasek > Gretzky > Morenz > Tucker > Shabutie > Sundin

I would say Peter Budaj is the #1. Outside of him, I think they have Jan Lasak so Halak could have a shot at number two I guess.

hmm, for some reason, I thought budaj was from kazakhstan... one of their goalies is from there and its not theodore.

Maybe I'm thinking of their #3 guy

Yea, the Senior SVK team does take notice. Budaj is #1 at the moment. I think Karol Krizan is #2 (MoDo, Swedish Elitserien) of whom, but the way, NHL could take notice as well.

I expect Halak to be our #1 in the future for sure.

hey thanks for the info!

I haven't seen him play in quite a while, but his stats sure are impressive!
I really didn't expect much from him... what a great surprise!

Anyone else who saw him play a few times recently could give us their evaluation?

Form and Substance 12-10-2006 11:03 PM

Well his sojourn in NA has been nothing short of breathtaking. He was a great goaltender with Lewiston before moving on to the professional ranks. I really think he's going to make it to the big leagues soon at the rate he's going.
