OT: my team did the Flying V AND SCORED

That's right.

We somehow got a 3 on 0 and it turned into a Flying V. Which we stayed onside with and scored on.

So ****ing funny, I am the coolest coach ever. :yo:

IT DOES WORK.

Next up knucklepucks...

On another note, forming a circle and keeping the ball carrier in the middle does not work in a soccer game full of 18-20 year olds. We were close, but got broken up. :(

You seem almost surprised. Why? Coach Bombay was a master strategist.

:amazed: how do they know my secrets

Look at my diagram with my artistic talents. We turn into a flying V at an NHL-size rink (sensplex) after a 3 on 0. As soon as we hit the blueline, the other two jump in. AMAZINGLY, THE SLOWEST PLAYER LEADS THE RUSH. First girl passes to winger on left, who passes it to winger across, who passes it back up to slow defense who scores in the five-hole of the godzilla goalie.

I rock as coach.

That's OK. Hush now, don't cry. It's a sign of genius ... really.

Haven't you heard the one about unreasonable people?

I'll see if I can remember it.

A reasonable person adjusts to the reality around them.
An unreasonable person expects the reality to adjust to them.
Therefore all progress is derived from unreasonable people.
Between the lines. Bah!!! So limiting.

Man, the flying V was so inspirational when I first watched those movies. Then years later I watched it again knowing what offside meant. :shakehead

Have you peppered your goalie with eggs yet?

They actually did follow the rules of offside.

If you watched it carefully, they ALWAYS passed it back to the person at the tip of the V right before they crossed the blueline.

Details are what make the movie great. :D

If I remember correctly, the Flying V had ALL 5 PLAYERS involved in the rush. In other words, you failed miserably, but nice try though. :P
