Crosby has 6 point tonight with 15 min left in the 3rd, game is on TSN.

Picking 5th overall is so close...

yet so far...

LeHab 12-13-2006 09:19 PM

Why couldn't we rig the lottery? Now we have to wait 6 more years before he becomes a free agent.

I can remember how excited I was the day of the lottery. I was working but I remember hearing the reports come bit by bit as the draft went on, and as it got closer to no.1 and the Habs still weren't announced I was pretty anxious. It was only later in the day that I heard the Habs got no.5 which was exciting, but disapointing knowing we were so close. As Dutchy said, so close, yet so far away.

How do you figure? Montreal was his favorite team growing up and was visibly disapointed when he was picked by the Pens (although he did say having an opportunity to play with Lemieux was great). I'm quite sure that he'll come to montreal, ESPECIALLY if we don't win a cup till then (he'll feel that it's his duty to bring us to the promise land).

Espacially if they WIN the cup before he's UFA!! Either way...

what are you smoking??? This guy wanted to play for the habs badly. Even his family was upset when they learnt we were 5th in the lottery, because they were pulled for the habs.

Crosby likes the habs so much that he still has a habs poster in his bedroom :biglaugh: j-k

His dream is to play for montreal, his favorite team is montreal. I saw an tv interview with him a couple of years ago and they were in his bedroom. It was covered with Habs parafanelia, including his bed spread and pillow cases.

Breenger 12-13-2006 10:49 PM

Well, basically, every team will offer him the league max when he's a free agent, so it's just going to be a matter of which team he wants to play for the most.

Every team with the cap space.
If Pitts hasent made a deal with him before free agency.

The deciding factor might be the lenght of the contract.
And of course if Sid likes the place and team.

Damn 47 points in 27 games. Jesus at this rate he'll end up with over 130 points which is just insane for a 19 year old. Lemieux had 141 points in his second season though.

Killiecrankie* 12-14-2006 01:43 AM

Mario was 20 though :)

I hope you didn't speak too soon. He plays us later this week, and if he is flying like he was last night, every Habs player will be looking like pylons too.....

Or the one where the taxes are the lowest...

Dark4ng3l 12-14-2006 08:34 AM

Taxes wont matter much if Crosby played in montreal every single company would be fighting to the death to have him in their ads he would make huge amounts of advertising money.

He'd probably make a bit more of that in New York or Toronto than here.

One Trick Pony 12-14-2006 09:21 PM

oh sorry :) I thought everybody hated to play here:dunno:
