Will Ziggy play tonight?

Anyone heard?

No, he's still in LA.

But injured right winger Ziggy Palffy could be close to returning to the lineup after 10 days. Palffy, among the league's scoring leaders with 26 points, was injured Nov. 22 when he was struck in the face by a shot from teammate Ian Laperriere. He skated Monday in Los Angeles but the team is reluctant to put a time frame on his return. "Today was his first day and he looked OK," said Kings general manager Dave Taylor, who did not make the trip. "But we'll have to see how he responds."

No, unfortunately. It would've been nice to see the Straka - Palffy one-two punch tonight... but we'll have to wait a little while longer.

Palffy didn't fly with the team on this mini-road trip. I bet it has a lot to do with the multiple root canals he probably had to endure. He hasn't been activated off the IR yet.

what makes you say that? not that i'm sure of anything, but i have to admit that i am a little wary of the severity of his injury. a number of people have remarked that we may have gotten straka because management knew that allison and deadmarsh won't be back anytime soon, if at all, but we could also have gotten him because the injury to palffy is more serious than they're letting on.

i'm not asserting the truth of this, its just something to think about.
