Pairings for Saturday

If Rozsival is going:

Pock - Rozsival (have played together before and add some offense from the blueline to the first line)

Tyutin - Girardi (why mess with something that is working quite well)

Rachunek - Ward (I figure if Rozsival goes, Lampman is the scratch)

If Rozsival is NOT going:

Tyutin - Girardi

Pock - Rachunek

Lampman - Ward (this is why Ward is here, to mentor the young kids)

Opinions?

I would try Lampman with Rachunek. Pock and Rachunek- two offensive minded guys is a disaster waiting to happen. In fact, that disaster happened during the leafs game.

The reason I did not do that is because:

1. Do you really want Lampman playing with a poor defensive guy in his first bit of action?

2. Pairing Lampman with Ward gives him a LITTLE buffer for some positional mistakes.

3. Pock and Rachunek played DECENT, despite the Rachunek blunder.

Honestly, Aron Ward isn't as good defensively. He is more Physical then anything. I would definitley look to play Lampman next to Rachunek considering he is suppose to be a pretty solid stay- at home d-men. I was at the game and my God did Rachunek leave pock in a abd position all night. Pock pinched and Rachunek never stayed back...Pock went behind the net Rachunek was by the redline, he needs to stay closer or on the opposite side of the net. Which IMO i'd rather see Lampman paired with Rachunek.

Lampman with Rachunek would be better because you would think that Lampman would stay back. As stated above, Rachunek always joins the rush. You would hope that whoever is a forward with this pair would also look to backcheck and help out.

Agree with the with Roszival...but I would make the Ward pair the top one.

Without Roszival I'd prefer:

Tyutin-Girdardi
Ward-Rachunek
Lampman-Pock
