Colby Armstrong not playing tomorrow.

They just said so on RDS. I guess that takes some of the fun out of the game.

CareyClutch 02-03-2007 12:34 PM

downey will go on crosby :p:

Clumsyhab 02-03-2007 12:36 PM

WeThreeKings 02-03-2007 12:36 PM

Haha, what a coward.

JMMR 02-03-2007 12:36 PM

I don't think we can ever expect any goonery from Downey, even if we need it. He's just not that kind of player. Off-ice he's a great guy but on-ice he's virtually useless.

Habsfan18 02-03-2007 12:40 PM

anyone know why?

Ross MacLochness 02-03-2007 12:41 PM

Are you kidding me?

Marc the Habs Fan 02-03-2007 12:42 PM

I think they said he COULD not play tomorrow since he is missing today's game with a day-to-day injury. It wasn't official.

Probably because Koivu rocked him. He was favouring his arm after Koivu gave him retribution.

I was about to post the same thing. Koivu absolutely owned him later, and Colby saw him coming, he did it legally, he did it cleanly, he did it head on and Colby got trashed.

Schooner Guy 02-03-2007 12:44 PM

Late in the 2nd period Thursday night, Koivu returned the favor by levelling Armstrong. Armstrong was very slow getting up and had to go to the bench. I'm guessing he got injured from this check. Looks good on him.

Dan K 02-03-2007 12:44 PM

FWIW, Armstrong is not in the line-up for the Pens today.

Your avatar should have the word "BONK!" in one of them.

Hey Im in Pitt watchin the game, apparently he is day to day with a knee injury, suffered during the Souray fight, dosent make much sense, but it did come from Bob Errey, so that adds up I guess.

Jovial 02-03-2007 12:47 PM

It's a knee injury. I think they said on FSN that it's from "the fight" with Souray.

WeThreeKings 02-03-2007 12:48 PM

It wasn't from the fight, it was clearly from when Koivu levelled him later on.

SteelCitySenator 02-03-2007 12:50 PM

As I said, Errey said that, I dont know if it was before or after saying that Gonchar is the best Dman in the league right now...

...If you get my point...

Schooner Guy 02-03-2007 12:53 PM

He's definitely injured from the Koivu hit. You gotta love Captain Courage.

Le Tricolore 02-03-2007 12:58 PM

I must've missed the Koivu hit on my way home from work. Anyone got a video?

Obviously, since it was only after the hit that he was limping. Koivu absolutely hammered him, he stayed on the ground for 3-4 seconds and then returned to his bench shaken up, not sure if he had even returned after that?

Habsfan18 02-03-2007 01:06 PM

I didn't even know Koivu levelled him....

any videos?

You only got to see it in the corner of the screen cuz Colby had already played the puck.

Yeah I saw him...I'm suprised so few people noticed it or were talking about it. But Koivu really hit him hard later in the game.
