Rangers Sharks Proposal

Mark Bell is someone who is not doing well who I wanted Sather to get in the summer. He can play centre and is better at centre than the wing. He has scored 2 20 goals seasons and is only 26. He can use a change. The Sharks could use a vet scoring dman. Would this trade work?

Rangers get Bell and Davison

Sharks get Immonen, Rachunek and 2ed in 07

Believe it or no, Bell has less points than Hall, that is how bad he has been doing. But Bell with a change, can do well. He had 2 20 goal seasons on a bad Hawks team. He can play C and the wing. Bell is also physical. Rangers also get a physical dman that hits and plays tough.

Sharks get a solid prospect who should be in the NHL, a offensive dman they can use and a high draft pick.

While it's less bad than usual, we have 3 legit NHL level d-men playing for us right now. You wanna trade one so you can have another borderline 7th guy?

Very doubtful the Sharks "sell low" like that too, unless Bell is some locker room cancer I've never heard about.

Sharks have no use for Immonen either.

Ain't happenin.

Davison would be great too. Look at the Sharks lineup today...this folks is toughness: Parker, Hannan, Davison, Gorges, Grier, Clowe, Ville, Bell

I'm sure Bell-Davison are acquirable

This helps us how?

The Sharks have no reason to make that deal. Bell is obviously having a terrible season, but they have no use for Immonen or the 2nd rounder pick. Rachunek isn't exactly tearing it up, either.

Regadless of how Bell is playing this season, he is by far the best player in this deal, is 26 years old, and is signed to a 3 year, fairly cheap $6M contract. Also, the Sharks have no reason to sell low, as someone pointed out.

No thanks.

if I'm following, you're counting Rachunek as a legit NHL level d-man, along with only two others? so is he better than Ward, Rozsival or Tyutin?

Roszival is hurt. We have 3 for tonights game, that was my point.

ok then. but I wouldn't really consider a day-to-day injury reason enough not to make a deal. still the trades rumors involving Malik or Rachunek without at least an equal defenseman coming back baffle me a bit.

clmetsfan 02-03-2007 05:14 PM

I think it's quite a stretch to call Rachunek a legit NHL dman. He'd have trouble getting ice time on a good playoff team

Mark Bell is having a terrible season and he may still have pending legal problems from a DWI hit and run charge. I don't recall if or when that case was resolved.

I think I'd pass

I wouldn't say that, he was a top four d-man for ottowa before he came here. On a very solid Ottowa team.....
