Swiss NLA Playoffs
What are the current playoff matchups and who is leading each series? Also, does the NLA play the best of 7 games for a series win? Thanks. :)

Here you are, bad year for the top seeds so far :

Zurich (8th) leads Davos (1st) 2-0
Bern (2nd) leads Geneva (7th) 2-0
Rapperswil (6th) leads Zug (3rd) 2-0
Kloten (5th) leads Lugano (4th) 2-0

All the playoffs are played in best of 7 format

Thanks for the info, I'm surprised Davos is down 2 games to Zurich. How are "Alexandre The Great" Daigle and former Sens forward Vaclav Varada working out for Davos?

Those guys are not so great. Floaters, in my opinion. I wished that my club made the playoffs though.

Daigle still ended 2nd in the league in scoring, and the Daigle-Von Arx-Riesen line was arguably the best during the regular season.

Varada isn't that good, only 10 points and he's currently injured.

Sens1225 03-01-2007 07:16 AM

Daigle has a lot of natural talent and potential, it's his attitude and work ethic (or lack of) that get him into trouble with most coaches. I figured getting away from the constant scrutiny in the NHL and the taunts of his being the "biggest bust in the history of professional sports" could possibly do him good.

As for Varada, he wasn't that strong of a player in Ottawa, hence why he was sent packing at the end of last season. Seems like a good guy though, so I was hoping he would find his niche in the NLA.

Thanks again for the info.

Davos' coach Arno Del Curto has a long history of getting the best out of headcases, nobody was surprised to see him sign a player like Daigle.

Reto Von Arx, Irgl, Riesen, Reto Von Arx, Ambühl

BERN - ZUG 4:0

swisdan 03-14-2007 02:11 PM

the Davos's big trio is back. Guggisberg was replaced in a other line. What a goal from Riesen yesterday!

I hope a final Bern vs Davos. Daigle vs Gamache.

Game 2 of the Semis:

Kloten - Davos 4:3
Zug - Bern 0:1

Kloten was 1:3 behind in the last third, before turning the game.
Zug couldn't manage to score the equaliser although they even had 46 seconds with 2 players more on the ice.

Games 3

Bern - Zug 4-0
Davos - Kloten 4-3

Game 4

Zug - Bern 3:1
Kloten - Davos 3:6

Game 5

Bern - Zug 4:0

Both Series end with a 4:1 for the favourites, Bern even achieving 4 shutouts in five games of the semis! Davos had a shaky quarterfinal, but now they are winning again. Impressive performance by the first line and the youngsters..

Finals will be HC Davos against SC Berne, first game on the 27 March '07.

Thanks for the updates you have provided, it's much appreciated. :handclap:

Who was the MVP for the series?

bolt thrower 04-10-2007 05:49 AM

Well, speaking from a Davos fan perspective, I think that there is no player who deserves the MVP award, the whole team played great and every single player fought really hard to win the championship.

stv11 04-10-2007 07:14 AM

Although he didn't do much yesterday, I think it's time to finally recognize Marha's importance to this team, he played some great hockey during these playoffs. Hiller and Von Arx could be good choices as well.
