Schedule advantage?

The Habs are up against Canes,Rangers,Boston,Toronto aiming for the last spot,
BUT look at the schedule for the next 14 games for each team.

As long as the Habs pick up their game just a little bit they should be OK.

All the other teams have a harder schedule.

It might all come down to the Boston 2 game back to back.

They have to pick up their game a lot to be OK. They will need either 1 long winning streak or 2 shorter winning streaks, which is something they haven't been able to do all season.

Yeah....we're talking about a small miracle!!!!

The team isn't playing like a team, there is obviously some other distraction in the dressing room. They need to figure out what they are going to do and either start playing together and find a way to win, or fold the tent and look forward to rebuilding in the off-season.

I would rather see Bob Gainey tear the team apart, get rid of the useless deadweight that doesn't want to play in Montreal, keep a good core of players that we have now and rebuild the team with young players that want to play. I could care less if we made the playoffs in the next 4 years if Bob tore the team down, just as long as some of the problems of this team were addressed....I'm sick of watching our best players float around out there because they don't feel like playing....aka Kovalev.

And in all seriousness...I'm sorry....but I don't think Saku Koivu is the leader this team needs!!! He is a decent player and goes out and contributes the best he can every game, but we need someone like a Mark Messier to take the team by the reigns and tell the players how it is and what is expected of them on the team and if they don't like it, then hit the road.
Somebody on the team has to be a leader, and so far I don't see where Koivu has been doing that.

I don't care who people tink and come in and kick some buttttt as a new coach.

Kovalev won't change one darn bit and Sammy knows he is on the way out won't care either.

Both want to play the power play so their stats get better, but where are they 5 on 5 ?

Threat what you want, makes no diff to them.
Gainey will find a way to move Sammy off season, Kovalev will be moved at the next trade deadline I think.

and remind me again of the Habs back-to back record for this year?

But yeah, there is still a flicker of hope.

The problem is that the habs have had trouble beating anyone since the new year, let alone superior opponents.

the only way this team gets on a roll is if halak gets hot and the habs tighten up defensively.

Some people say that the team turned around after the coaching change last season, but I think the team turned after huet became the #1 guy and started stealing games. This is what the habs need from halak right now. A dubious task for a 21 year old.
