Dawes in New York

"Nigel Dawes has been called up by the Rangers in case an undisclosed player is unable to play Wednesday night due to injury " From the Blueshirt Bulletin. Would be nice to see him play :D

Perhaps Straka? Who knows these days, they seem to be dropping like flies.

blueliner94 03-20-2007 11:44 PM

Sorry about the no link thanx for putting one up. Now if its for Hollweg I got a nice smile on my face ( not because I dislike Hollweg) but with Shanny back splaying with Avery and Callahan, our third line could be Pru cullen and daws Speed speed speeeeed! drop Orts to the 4th and roll all 4 lines :D I do understand we need tuffness but Avery Orr and even Callahan can handle some of the load, so can Bister.

DontStaal 03-20-2007 11:47 PM

Straka is most likely out for tomorrow (not sure where i read it..maybe Sam's)

imagine Renney benches Prucha

it is possible... he did sit the guy basically the entire 3rd period.

NYRSinceBirth 03-21-2007 12:31 AM

I doubt it's Shanny, nuclear fallout seams to be the only way to stop this guy from playing from how he sounds talking about Wednesday. I also doubt Hollweg, since they want some bangers out that against Philly (Remember last game?). Most likely Straka, the guy is dedicated, but he might need some recovery time, the end of the season has not been good to him.

stuart 03-21-2007 01:22 AM

It is assumed straka

will not play tommorrow that is whom Shanahan will replace. I assume Dawes is for Hollwegg if he can't go..

I would love to see Dawes play tommorrow on a speed line.......:sarcasm:

dawes - cullen - callahan would be ideal ...

it would be a poor man's elias-gomez-gionta line ;)

They wouldn't be strong enough in their own end though.

ehh, it would be the rangers 3rd line i assume so they wouldn't have to carry as much load.

pld459666 03-21-2007 08:05 AM

I think it would be a mistake

to take Avery off the ACC line.

Keep him out there with Cullen and Callahan.

That line needs a physical player and really provides this team with some really solid depth on the 3rd line.

Put Shanny on the 2nd line with Prucha and Dubinsky

The 3rd line is supposed to carry the majority of the defensive load

philbo 03-21-2007 08:52 AM

I don't get this one. Why return Dubi then if we still need a body from Htfd? Unless Shoenfeld is starting to get ansy not having both Cally, & Dubi.

Thoughts?

Larry Melnyk 03-21-2007 08:54 AM

Personally, I don't want to see Dawes play one iota right now...The guys that have been playing, have been playing well as a unit, and that's hoiw this team win...

Injury emergency is another story...MY bet is it's HOLLWEG...The kid is battered from the SImple SImon incident, fights, Constantly throwing his body and I think the RECCHI check might have done some damage...

I wouldn't want to see Avery taken off that line. The ACC line has been great the last couple games.

Nich 03-21-2007 08:57 AM

maybe dawes - cullen - prucha?

What they are doing to this kid is horrible. What a disgrace.

think please. just think

it could have just been a paper transaction.. even if it wasn't, he must be well aware of the situation and i'd be concerned if he is bothered by it

Nigel Dawes, here in case Hollweg couldn't go, skated in the optional practice, but packed his bag and was returning to Hartford as I write this. "Yeah, it's like commuting," said Dawes, who was briefly up last week before being sent back. "I understand it because you're only allowed four moves and we're in the playoff hunt just like up here. I hope to get back soon, though."

ANd just like DUBINSKY yesterday who totally understood what was going on, knows he has to go down and work on things, and was just pumped up that he goot the chance at all..A little different with Dawes, but he at least knows he was being considered..

dank 03-21-2007 02:03 PM

"Dawes in New York"

siiiiike...

anyway, i don't think its disgraceful.. he knows what he is getting into.. and i am sure they talk to him about it every step of the way..
