GDT | Pack @ Penguins | March 24th | PACK WIN 4-3

Tied 1-1 in the 1st. Dubinsky has the lone goal. Dubi score a goal and an assist yesterday in a 5-2 loss.

Holt is in net.

Dubinsky, (16) (Degon, Bourret), 5:00

Hannu Pikkarainen is in the Pack lineup tonight on defense.

FLYLine24* 03-24-2007 06:23 PM

I just realized Montoya isn't even in the game, not the backup either. Anyone know why?

Jarkko Immonen 03-24-2007 06:31 PM

Well, Al got pulled last night and last Saturday. He hasn't been too hot lately. Not that the goals allowed in both games were all put on him either.

p.s. it's pack @ penguins

also I got to watch Hannu last night, he's a solid player.

Osminator 03-24-2007 06:40 PM

weller who played last night, isnt dressed

Purinton and Byers both had fights - didn't see the Byers fight, but Purinton's was uneventful. 5 min into the 2nd and I've seen the Pack with two odd man rushes - in both cases, the guy with the puck (first Dubi, then Olver) was looking to pass exclusively and should've shot.

Hopefully these are the kinds of things they're learning. :)

Good to see that the baby Rangers get jobbed by the refs just like their big brothers. Totally uneven calls so far in this game.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 07:11 PM

Unbelievable. My connection burps and I miss the Dawes SH goal. Pack up 2-1 in the 2nd.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 07:22 PM

3-1 Pack. PP goal Immonen from Dawes and Potter.

4-1 Pack. Helminen slams home a rebound of his own shot.

FLYLine24* 03-24-2007 07:25 PM

Keep up Pack!

Potter with 3 assists tonight so far. Bourret has 2.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 07:25 PM

Potter with 3 helpers in the game. Looking like a player. :yo:

Potter was good last night too.. He is similar to Girardi in my opinion with how he is able to move the puck around and not make any killer errors.

I think he may have more offensive upside whereas Girardi strikes me as more of a classic, vanilla make-no-mistakes D. (Which is just fine with me, by the way.)

OOOOH. Shaeffer (sp?) ROBS Olver on the breakaway.

NYROrtsFan 03-24-2007 07:52 PM

Yep.. Seems to have better vision up ice than Girardi who seems limited there or at least plays more cautious.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 07:57 PM

4-2. Dixon with a SH breakaway. Beat Holt clean. Gotta give him credit for a nice move thought.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 08:12 PM

4-3 now with 4:28 to go. Holt never saw the shot from the point.

Osminator 03-24-2007 08:14 PM

4:28 left, Pens just scored.... lead down to 4-3.... will Holt holt up? *biting nails*

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 08:14 PM

Penguins really carrying the play right now. Olver looks AWESOME in the offensive zone - he's fast, got great moves, and great vision. The only thing he's failed to do this game is score.

BrooklynRangersFan 03-24-2007 08:22 PM

Pack win 4-3.:handclap:

FLYLine24* 03-24-2007 08:24 PM

Dawes 1st star of the game, Potter 2nd.

Bird Law 03-24-2007 09:29 PM

How'd Olver look tonight? How has he looked so far, anyway? Looking like a keeper?

stuart 03-24-2007 09:39 PM

Sounds like Dubinsky

Has not sulked since being sent down. He has a bunch of points since being sent down. I think that is a good sign. I think he will play in the NHL for a long long time....

ATLANTARANGER* 03-24-2007 09:41 PM

Potter reminds me of a cross between James Patrick & Mike Commodore. I was upset when the NYRs didn;t offer him a contract last year. I've liked him since his college days. I just hope he now excepts a NHL contract from the NYRs now.

maybe Potter and Degon will get NHL contracts like Girardi earned it last year. I hope both of them do.

BTW, thanks BRF for always updating us on the Pack games.

Glad to know Olver is looking great out there. Hopefully he keeps it up...I was 50/50 on him but if he is really showing some promising offensive skills out there then I'm starting to get excited.
