Go 6th seed! Bring on the Thrashers!

BwayBshirt 04-07-2007 09:03 PM

i can see the headline now...

"BLUESHIRTS GOING TO "BLUELAND""...

I believe we are a better team than Atlanta. The Devils are the Devils and not only do they own us but in a rivalry series like that anything can happen and it takes so much out of you. That's why I really wanted to play Atlanta. All we need to do is steal a game down there and come home and have a 3-1 lead baby. I'm actually going to be rooting for the Fishies tomorrow. It would be really exciting all of us being in it.

GarretJoseph* 04-07-2007 09:07 PM

hmm

its going to be hard, very hard. they have some very skilled players and i think 5 or 6 ex-rangers....

they picked up some good players at the deadline too...

HockeyBasedNYC 04-07-2007 09:08 PM

Careful what you wish for, but at the same time I for one DID NOT want to see the Devils in the first round.

I hope Vinny and CO. destroy them though i think their goaltending will have to come up big to beat them.

As far as Atlanta goes, it should be a fun matchup. Maybe the best for the Rangers IMO. Both play similar skilled styles and if the Rangers can get the ball rolling against them i think we can see some good things.

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!

Pascal looks for his revenge :biglaugh:

They have nearly 30 more goals against their team than we do. We play our defense, we win this series. Virtually identical in goals scored for both teams, so I think the offenses are about as equal as can be.

LET'S GO RANGERS!

I just bought two tickets for the first playoff game in Atlanta. Now I got to figure out how to get there.

HockeyBasedNYC 04-07-2007 09:11 PM

Oh, and another thing. Its amazing that the playoff matchups of 4 teams basically came down to a shootout.

Ahah i know. And when they took like an extra 10 mins replacing the glass, i knew god wanted to make me suffer!

Smashley 04-07-2007 09:14 PM

Its crazy that here we are 20 minutes ago rooting for Atlanta to win and now they are our worst enemies and we want them to lose every game here on out.

Actually the headline's will probably read..

"A-Rod win's it for Yankee's in biggest sporting game of night".. and then up at the top of the paper, you might see something like "Local hockey team to play in playoffs vs Braves?"

nyr2k2 04-07-2007 09:22 PM

Thrashers don't scare me. Our offense is pretty much equal to their offense, and I give us the edge on the defensive side of things. If we play solid D and Henke continues to shine, then we'll take this series. Just glad we don't have to play Brodeur.

Plato 04-07-2007 09:22 PM

thrashers are done

Hossa vs Hossa

BRONX_MADNESS* 04-07-2007 09:24 PM

I kinda feel bad for the thrashers...

broadwayblue 04-07-2007 09:24 PM

Gonna have to keep their big guns under control...stop Hossa and Kovalchuk and we should be in good shape.

Smashley 04-07-2007 09:25 PM

The Devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal....

....AND HIS NAME WAS HENRIK LUNDQVIST!!

and one of these for good luck :jockstrap:

Atlanta had a dominating start to the season (12-3-3), faltered a bit, then got Tkachuk and played much better.

Since their hot start, they are 31-25-8 with 179 goals for and 197 goals against.
