Andrei Kastsitsyn Game Report
I'll try this one more time. Here's a report on a game I watched of Kastsitsyn. It's in Russian, so the game is a little hard to follow, but I tried to put down everything he did in each shift.

Thanks that's great!

I've never seen him play. I'm looking forward to your next report. I'd also like to hear some general descriptions of his style of play. Maybe who he reminds you of.

Thanks again!

Thanks Montreal, good to read somthing on Kasty's play as it's hard to hear anything about hi when he's playing over in Russia.

Thanks for the Kastsitsyn report! Can't wait to see him in NA... I think I'll actually make the trip to Hamilton or Bell Centre to see him once he gets here!

I'm glad that several of you enjoyed the article, I wasn't sure how it would look since I never did an article like that. I tried to describe what he was doing in each shift, but I started to get tired at the end, and it seemed like it was kind of boring.

As for Kasty and who I would compare him to, I don't think I can answer that, it's a tough one. I will say he's got decent size, very good skater, good acceleration and speed. His shot was quick and heavy, and his passes were smooth, creatitive and right to his teammates. His defensive game from the one game I saw is no where near as bad as I heard it was, but by no means is this guy a 2-way forward. My impression was that he covered his man well, but he does a lot of coasting through the neutral zone and in his own end. He just seemed to get a lot faster when he had the chance to get the puck, but overall he got the job done in his own end. The one goal against him, he didn't play it right, but it was more of the defensemens fault, as both D went to the passer.

I hope to have the next game in a few weeks.
