HFNYR Policies – Revised for Conference Semi-Finals – EVERYONE Read
The following infractions are going to be enforced with a vengeance in response to recent user conduct:

Flaming: verb – to harass, insult (name calling), belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest

Trolling: verb – to post a message/thread with a sole purpose of starting a dispute.

First time offenders will have their post deleted, receive the appropriate infraction and be banned from the thread from which the infraction was made. Second time offenders will be banned from NYR forum for a time period to be determined.

WARNING: These standards will be applied to Sabres and Ranger fans alike. Ranger fans that choose to engage trolls and flamers choose to accept the consequences of such actions. Do not feed trolls, use the “Report Post” button and an HF moderator will handle the situation.

This is a public forum which welcomes all hockey fans regardless of team affiliations. Sabre fans are to be treated with respect by HFNYR regulars just as Ranger fans are to be treated with respect by our guests from Buffalo. That said, Sabre fans acknowledge that this a Ranger forum and should expect a bias from the fan base. Those that cannot accept a point of view seen through red, white and blue colored glasses are advised not to join the discussion here.

Standard policies remain in place.

PM any of us with questions or concerns.

- Melrose, SBOB, DG and, of course, FLYLine.

To reiterate, these rules apply to Ranger fans as well. That means, no feeding the trolls. All that does is create more work for the mods. And that includes posts like “go away” or “enjoy your ban”.

In addition, respectful Sabres fans are welcome to post on this board. And if they mention something negative about the Rangers, it is not necessarily trolling. If you feel that a comment is trolling, report it and it will be addressed.

We are not going to let this board turn into a cesspool during this series. If that means getting rid of those who are making it such (on both sides), we will.

By and large, the mods are pretty lenient here. If we must crack down, then so be it.

Bump for a pre-game reminder.

Generaly speaking, opposing fan bases are co-existing nicely here despite a dramatic and controversial series. To quote a former employer of mine, "Just keep doin' what you're doin'".
