hossa a candidate for the "C" kovy for an "A"?

i really think that hossa will earn the spot of captian after the year he just had he deserves it, except for his poor play in the playoffs

Magnus Fulgur 05-05-2007 06:01 PM

I don't know...ask Bobby Holik.

TheRealKovalchuk* 05-05-2007 07:04 PM

H0ssa doesnt deserve this.. i would much rather give it to Kozzie or Holik... hell even Havelid. Kovalchuk should have got the A this year

Lux Aurumque* 05-05-2007 08:29 PM

^ Are you kidding? Kovalchuk doesn't deserve, nor will he ever deserve an "A". He's far too selfish.

Hossa, aside from Holik, under contract that I would even consider for the 'C'. However, we DO have Holik, so he'll end up with it.

I think Kovy showed this year that he isn't as selfish as everyone thinks. I actually got to see/ go to games, this year and Kovy is not a selfish player. For the first two periods he tried to set up guys like Krog, Sim, Metropolit, Mellanby, Slater, you name it. Most of the passes I saw were absolutley amazing, but the other guys blew it huge. By the time the third period rolled around it seemed like he was sick of having passes wasted and did try to do it himself.

Noo, thats the best part!

DungeonK 05-05-2007 11:31 PM

Holik = C
Havelid = A
Kozlov = A (if he stays)
Kovalchuk = A (75% sure after seeing his heart in the playoffs)

btn 05-06-2007 06:55 AM

I doubt Havelid keeps his A after his play down the stretch.

I might give Exelby the A over him.

Sorry to point it out ATL fans but I must say I told you so on that.

And look who is leading the Stanley Cup Playoffs in scoring through 2 rounds with 15 pts and only through 10 games combined :sarcasm:

are u kidding me? Kovalchuk bleeds thrasher blood, he carried this team when Heatley was messed up, he played with MAD heart during the playoffs and he hasnt ever said anything bad about atlanta after all these crappy seasons. also hes amazingly skilled and i think players look up to him in desperate situations. hes got passion, thats what ATL needs in their Captins.

Hossa is dead to me... wathcing those playoffs killed my love for him.

btn 05-06-2007 12:35 PM

Hossa had 4 bad games, as did a majority of the players on the team. He is still one of the best players in the world.

Holik will likely wear the C next year.

The most informative article on teh internets about Dany Heatley

Heatley4Hart* 05-06-2007 01:36 PM

wow, that is some classless stuff. At least show some respect for the dead friend if not Heatley.

As for the guy, first back-to-back 50+ goal season (not seen since Pavel Pure in the 90's) and back to bak 100+ pts seasons is sick. I would figure he would show up in the playoffs more because he is a Canadian kid.

Besides, there should not be any bitterness since you got at least a very talented player in Hossa back. He is good, a dman good regular season player at least.

What the did the Pens for instance get for Jagr again from Washington --> Zero

KevFist 05-06-2007 03:22 PM

Heatley was sentenced to serve community service as replacement for the jail time he should have served (and that anyone else would have served) for manslaughter. he has served NONE of this sentence, and shows no intention to do so. On top of that, he absolutely rips the city of Atlanta and the Thrashers organization after the managmeent traded him like he asked them to, and the city rallied around Heatley after such a traumatic incident.

Heatley may be a good hockey player, but derserves NO respect as far as I'm concerned. When he shows some remorse and serves his sentence, then maybe a little respect could be considered.

Atlanta fans have every right to be bitter with Heatly.

Sorry? Show up in the playoffs because he's Canadian? Nothing, and I repeat NOTHING makes Canadians better than Europeans. Plus, to say that Heatley plays more of a North American style than Hossa does is a complete joke. Heatley is as soft as the Sedins.

Everyone goes on about Heatley's point totals being higher than Hossa's...well..Im pretty sure that playing with Spezza and Alfredsson, instead of Kozlov and Metropolit/Belanger, has a TON to do with that.

That is an absolutely absurd statement, it's obvious you haven't watched any Senator playoff games this year.

By the way, that #18 for the Thrashers sure ripped it up in the postseason didn't he?:sarcasm:

Well, he certainly hit more in 4 games than Heatley has in his entire career.

:shakehead

SensRbest 05-08-2007 08:14 PM

In all the years Hossa played for the Sens, he always had this 'please don't hurt me attitude in the playoffs' :shakehead

Heater has improved alot this year in the post-season and it's only his second year :handclap:

xeric716x 05-08-2007 09:39 PM

Is Hossa or Kovy the fallowing

1)Team leader off the ice

2)plays hard 100% of the time

3)Steps up when the time is needed

4)Gets along with all the players in the dressing room

there is more to being the captian then just points on the ice

2007 Playoffs:

Hits:
Hossa 8
Heatley 18

Blocked Shots:
Hossa 0
Heatley 4

Goals:
Hossa 0
Heatley 5

Points:
Hossa 0
Heatley 15

Wins:

Hossa 0
Heatley 9

Hossa is probably the LAST person on your team you should give the C to. I'd give it to Kovy before Hossa because at least he's signed for the next few years and showed some emotion against the Rangers.

Inferno 05-12-2007 02:07 AM

from what little ive seen of the Thrashers, Exelby seems like a good choice for a captain.
