Habs fan here. Would he really let the team leave the city? I can't say I know anything about the Preds owner. I hope not. You guys have an amazing atmosphere down there.

it doesn't matter ... whatever Ballsillie wants he's gonna get ... and he's probably gonna get his wish in getting a 3rd team in Ontario

According to here: http://www.newschannel5.com/Global/story.asp?S=6560713

It's a done deal, I hope it's really not true though, Balsillie seems like he'll stop at nothing on bringing a team to Waterloo for whatever reason :/

The Tang 05-23-2007 06:52 PM

As a Pens fan myself along with many others never trusted this man. He definitely seemed like he had alterior motives despite saying everything we wanted to hear.

I dont want the Preds to leave Nashville, but chances are he would be a step in the wrong direction.

Stranger 05-23-2007 07:05 PM

We're gone.

Stranger 05-23-2007 07:06 PM

The "fans" on these boards will enjoy seeing the Predators leave town I'm sure.

MrMastodonFarm* 05-23-2007 07:12 PM

It's up to the fans, if they prove they want a team in Nashville, then get over 14 000 people in the seats per game. If not, an out-clause can be trigged by next summer.

It's up to the fans.

Transported Upstater 05-23-2007 07:12 PM

Anyone should feel free to PM me if it gets nasty over here and a Nashville mod isn't present while we get this sorted out.

I'll step up to the plate for you. :)

I wouldn't trust Bald-Silly as far as I could throw his dead rotting carcass. As a Penguins fan you have my deepest sympathies for what you're about to go through. God I hate that WEASEL!!!!!!!!!

predfan24 05-23-2007 07:23 PM

whatever this guy says I beleive he's gonna move us no matter what. Plus nashville isn't a town where you tell the fans put up or shut up. Especially with hockey, let's just be honest. This is a sad sad day for true predator faithful

triggrman 05-23-2007 07:27 PM

They won't average 8k fans next season now.

Radulov for Czar* 05-23-2007 07:29 PM

So, what free agents are we going to sign? Goodbye Timonen.. Hartnell, good as gone. Kariya, enjoy Anaheim. Anyone here gonna keep their season tickets?

Stranger 05-23-2007 07:29 PM

Basielle will make sure we don't attempt to get local businesses to attempt to buy tickets this season. Meanwhile, he'll enact the clause, and further piss people off.

SLake 05-23-2007 07:29 PM

Great, first I have to live through Peter Karmanos buying the Whalers with no intentions of making it work in Hartford, now I get to live through Jim Balsillie purchasing the Predators.

I'm literally numb right now...can't wait to see the papers tomorrow.

I'm scheduled to go tomorrow night to possibly move my seats, perhaps I should just ask for my money back.

And that's the reason why a guy who owns this team doesn't want it in Nashville.

I actually thought Nashville was a decent town for hockey.

If only Carolina or TBay didn't win the cup, I was hoping they'd move. And I guess Balsille didn't want to buy Florida :biglaugh:
