I will never support the NHL again, but will always support hockey. Remember, it's the NHL leaving the city not hockey.

Nashville108* 05-23-2007 09:18 PM

screw the NHL. I hope the Predators franchise crashes and burns.

Joe T Choker 05-23-2007 09:20 PM

In all seriousness IF the Preds are moved ... I'm moving to Vancouver

RaiderDoug 05-23-2007 09:58 PM

Well, thats about it. I had the feeling this place was just about to take off. This can only end badly.

Oh well, time to go out and buy a Kovalchuk jersey.

Garry Bettman will never let a team leave the southern us. It will make him look bad for expanding to Nashville. Also he always talks about how expansion is a long term project not short term as well.

...........................besides that he will never let Balsilie move a team to Canada.

sparkle twin 05-23-2007 10:57 PM

I'll go back to having the Pens as my #1 team.

And either move back there, or take the Las Vegas offer. I do love it here, but part of that love is going to Predators games.

I sure as hell don't want to stay in a town where the only pro team is the Titans.

Oh, and back when the Knights were ripped away and moved to Pensacola, I hated them and still do (even though I think this year they folded). I don't know if I'll hate the team but I will the owner. It would be hard to hate Legwand, Vokoun, Radulov, Weber etc.

Jazz 05-23-2007 11:05 PM

I am very sad to read this.

I have been one of the few Canadians on this board that has defended Southern US expansion. I hope this team stays here and that the corporate area rallies around this team next season.

Sinistrophobia 05-23-2007 11:12 PM

Sharks fan here,

I really hope the Preds stay in Nashville. I can't imagine the Sharks moving out of SJ because I've become so accustomed to having them here since I moved to the Bay Area. This really makes me feel for a fan base that seems like they might be on the brink of having their team move. Hopefully they stay put and the Predators fan base will be able to continue to have their team.

i wont hate the players that play on the preds, but i will hate the organization, and i hope it fails.

How would we not already know?

And do you really want our thoughts in this thread, perhaps you should read the other threads dealing with this.

Nashville fans, I would not worry to much about the preds going to Hamilton because Buffalo and Toronto would have something to say about it. Hamilton is Buffalo and Toronto fan base. They have been trying to get an NHL team in Hamilton for years, It will never happen.

The most likely place for a team in southwest Ontario would be somewhere just outside Kitchener-Waterloo. K-W itself is still within the Leafs area (I think the league rules are 65 miles) but putting a team a little down the road, or even in London would still have a pretty big population to draw from.

Jarnberg 05-23-2007 11:49 PM

Can't you guys discuss the best possible option for the Predators to move to in another thread?

604flames 05-24-2007 01:07 AM

Not from Nashville, but having had an NBA team ripped from my town I feel for you guys. The year they left, I really tried to follow the Grizzlies but just couldn't, and haven't really gotten back into the NBA until these playoffs jumpin back on the Utah bandwagon (loved Stockton and Malone as a kid)

PeterAngelo 05-24-2007 05:19 AM

Well supporting Nashville from afar, firstly in Australia and now in Michigan, i guess this poll isn't really for me but the Nashville residents. I'll still have my say though, I'd like to think i could support them elsewhere, but I am a nashville fan not a predator fan, if i was a predator fan i would have watched that movie more than the once. Nashville forever!

Jarmusch 05-24-2007 05:59 AM

I hope you guys will be able to keep your team in Nashville.
Expension is a long term project, I can not see them moving to Vegas, or Kansas city, like there were rumors with Pittsburg. As the Canadian option, we are real hardcore hockey fans, but financial reality is different either.

good luck.

Evilo 05-24-2007 06:03 AM

Just wanted to wish you guys good luck in keeping your team.

Nothing's done, BELIEVE!

TravisUlrich 05-24-2007 08:26 AM

I think there's a good chance they'll move.

-Craig Leipold, one would think, is looking to sell the team and stop the losses he's been incurring, so the sale will probably go through.

-If paid attendance is below 14,000 average, the owner can walk away from his obligation to the Sommet Center as early as next season. Last season, Nashville's paid attendance was 12,000 with total attendance of 14,428 (2,428 seats given away).

paid attendance was 13,815 ....but whose counting..

Upchuck19 05-24-2007 08:41 AM

If the Pred fans can't support a team why can't this guy buy the team and move it to a market that will support?

Buy 14,000 season tickets and he can't move it, pretty freakin simple here boys!

I hope this is a wake up call for the pred fans, but is there enough loyal fans and coprorate suits to give them a base of 14K?

It is so simple, isn't it? Especially when the owner will do what he can to ensure we don't reach 14,000.

****ing broken record, WE KNOW THIS ALREADY.

If the NHL lets the team move I'm done with the NHL.
