Interesting information on Souray

http://jmiz5.hypermart.net/exclusive/superskills.html

-He had the hardest slapshot on the Devils at 100mph
-Skated around the rink in 13.980 sec while Niedermayer did it in 13.625 sec.
-He was booed

I guess we can't say he's a slow skater anymore eh?

I wonder why he got booed, was he not liked in Jersey?

Him and Denis Pėderson were booed ... they were just plumber at the time and the fans wanted too see Nidermayer or Rafalski or Elias win .

I never thought of Souray as a slow skater. He's got pretty good wheels, you can notice when he joins the rush (one great example is his winning goal for the hat trick in OT a few games ago. He flew from one end to another without any opposing player being able to get to him). The guy is skating very well for a man his size and about his booming shot, he of course always had that howitzer, but it's just recently that he started to hit the net with regularity with it.

- I really want to see him at the all star game in the slapshot contest.Im pretty sure that he can suprise many.

- I have to admit that i am surprised by this one.

- While i don't understand the reason(s) for why the NJ fans booed him , i guess its probably the same with us when we are booing Rivet. :D .

Yeah but an intra -team competition is less impressive than an all star one.

A fastest skater competition is not very credible when you have a guy like Juneau in :D

Souray is a fast skater. However he doesn't have the best foot speed. In other words he's pretty quick straight ahead but he's slower when he has to move around.

I don't know, I think his agility is very good now. Obviously he worked hard on it when he was out of action.
