Habs vs Thrashers GDT

Well since no thread is up yet, I guess I'll be the culprit and start it. Thrashers are looking to join the Leafs as the only 20 win teams in the east. Obviously the key for the habs will be shutting down Kovalchuck. The Thrashers are nothing without him, so if we can render him ineffective, we should walk away with a w. Having said that, shutting down Kovalchuck is easier said than done simply because he is by far the most talented player in the game today, and our poor defence could be ripe for the picking. I predict past history will prevail.

Prediction: Habs 4, Thrashers 2

BLONG7 12-29-2003 01:40 PM

4-3 Habs... Zednik to have a good game!

Team_Spirit 12-29-2003 01:50 PM

3-0 Habs .

Goals by : Ryder , Souray , Perrault

I hope this game will be more interesting that their last game vs Carolina .

:rolly:

If line two decides to attend tonight's game: 3-2 Habs.

If not: 3-1 Thrashers.

Histrion 12-29-2003 02:25 PM

2-1 Habs!

Zednik and Koivu for the Habs

Kovalchuk for the Trashers.

prabak11 12-29-2003 02:29 PM

it will be 6-4 for the thrashers :dunno:

Histrion 12-29-2003 02:30 PM

That would be quite an offensive game, hey! ;)

Histrion 12-29-2003 02:56 PM

Very good play by the Habs there, they couldn't score, but that was nice to see!

Team_Spirit 12-29-2003 02:59 PM

Dafoe won't shutdown our offence any longer ....

Histrion 12-29-2003 03:01 PM

Remember the playoffs Byron... remember how you sucked. Please, play just like you did in the playoffs. :D

Histrion 12-29-2003 03:09 PM

Markov scored, but the play was not stopped with Kovalchuk injury, I think that should be a no-goal, but it's up to the referee...

Team_Spirit 12-29-2003 03:12 PM

Brisebois got his 10th assist of the season and Koivu got his 14th .

goalchenyuk 12-29-2003 03:14 PM

2-0

Dagenais !!!

WITH 5 SEC TO GO

BRISEBOIS ET RIBEIRO ASSIST

Histrion 12-29-2003 03:15 PM

Another goal for the Habs!

Dagenais scores!

Malakhov 12-29-2003 03:19 PM

Very entertaining first period in my opinion. Quite a change of pace from the horrible, horrible Canes game.

It was a good call on the ref's part to allow the play to continue. Kovalchuk got hit by his own guy and it obviously wasn't a serious injury. Btw, if that was a player with some real heart, I gaurantee he would have made it to the bench.

Decent period. Dags got a goal but him and Ribs were absolutely brutal all period. Koivu looks awesome and his line has been buzzing. Let's hope they keep it up.

Good stuff in that period. Habs played well and it was fun to watch.

For the good of the NHL, please let that Kovalchuk ankle be fine and not broken.

Good to see Markov finally pot one. Time for a 2nd half explosion from him.

penopekoo 12-29-2003 03:23 PM

Wow. Ward is energy. I know it ain't much, but that one play was pretty good... he brings definite positives to the Habs' game.

Histrion 12-29-2003 03:24 PM

I tought that the refs would stop the game with the injury, that's why I said I felt there shouldn't be a goal allowed there.

The game is better than the one with the Canes, that is for sure, but the first 5 minutes weren't all that entertaining.

The refs won't stop the play if it kills a rush or scoring chance unless the guy is hurt bad and needs immediate attention.

u know, i know how great that atlanta team is with ko, but if they have to be without him, how sad will they get? it's a shame, i hope he doesnt come back this game, but that he'll be all good and fired up for the next game :P btw, i read on RDS that a couple years back, AS was trying to get Kowalchuk...it was for a #1 goalie and some D...never happened though (obviously) but imagine if it did..would u of been okay with parting with Theo?

Histrion 12-29-2003 03:35 PM

Kovalchuk will go to the box. We will enjoy a Power Play! :yo:
