Hunchback shoulder pads...

Ok, I seem to have trouble picking out shoulder pads.. every one I buy ends up making me look like a robot/hunch back. What's a good set to buy that won't make me look like robocop but still offer good protection?

Or should I just pick up some Shanny specials?

shanny specials are the way to go. Not restrictive, and they feel good and not clunky.

Are you overweight, muscular or thick?
It always looks to me that guys that have that look are one of the above :)

Remember if you are a bit overweight and have a thick chest, you also are carrying weight on your back.

You can always take the current ones you got and chop of the padding or shoulder caps. But I bet it'll be mentioned to look at the Sherwood 5030.

RBK is the way to go for goalies

get the Shanny / Gretzky specials. 14 ounces of felt and 2 plastic circles on top. haha

If it's just for a gentlemns league, I would say go for the Sherwood 5030s or the Itech SP50s.
If it's for a rougher or full contact league, I'd recommend the RBK/Jofa shoulder pads. I find they aren't as 'top-heavy' as the other brands.

I'm not skinny, but not overweight. I'm about 6'2 and 210lbs. Trust me, the reason they make me look like a transformer isn't that.. I can actually press the bulging pading down. They suck ass.

I'd love some Shanny specials, just throw them on, without the over bulkyness. I don't play contact so why must I have shoulder cups that could be used as a bomb casing?

Thanks for the input

Ahhh yea! That's what I need!
