Fantasy Hockey

Hey Everyone,

Just wondering if this site has some sort of a fantasy hockey league? I'm looking to either start or join a league for the upcoming season.

ditto

There is the HFNHL. I don't know the specifics. Checkout the board here:

There are plenty of users that set up leagues. The best place to check would be the Fantasy Hockey Board:

The Yahoo leagues should be starting up around the beginning of September.

FLYLine24 08-08-2007 03:24 PM

Onion Boy? Heh, nice new name.

Yea, i'll probably start a league or two, or at least get a list of names in the next few days or so. Last year we had I believe 4 leagues in total on our board so everyone that wants to play fantasy hockey gets in.

Someone has got to take Rangers1994 down though this year, he's come in first 2 years in a row.

Forechecker 08-08-2007 03:46 PM

I'm interested in a non-rotisserie league.

nyrcallahan24 08-08-2007 04:09 PM

coulde someone plaese explain to me what this is?

I Am Chariot 08-08-2007 04:29 PM

I'm up for a league. $$$ league is cool too

Melrose_Jr. 08-08-2007 04:37 PM

We've got to figure out a way to weed out these people who are breaking their necks to get in a league in August, then never actually participate. I think I'm going to have to commish my own "invite only" league this year because I'm sick and tired of have the game literally ruined by no-shows.

you really need to use the internet more effectively. you can find the answer to nearly every question you will ever have with a few keystrokes. start with google.com and wikipedia.org.

I always find even a small friendly $$ keeps the leagues/gms focused

As far as those yahoo leagues I prefer the rottissere format, having done both.

yup...that's pretty much what it takes.

i was always a rot fan myself, but my cousin swears by head to head.

Yahoo has that stat-tracker? add on that works real well for the roto league imo. It wasnt as helpful for me on the h2h

Melrose_Jr. 08-08-2007 04:54 PM

Here's last year's league thread: http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=296591

I'm an H-2-H man myself.

Bluenote13 08-08-2007 05:31 PM

I'm down for a yahoo league, ROT preferred, but head to head is fine too.

If you do so send one my way please. I couldn't get into last seasons action, so I settled for a different Yahoo league, but I would love to join with users from here.

Put me down on the list whenever you make it.

I've done Yahoo for the past three seasons now and have always stuck around to the end.

I agree with Melrose though, we need to weed out people who don't stick around.

Bretzky* 08-08-2007 06:37 PM

I'm highly interested. Last season I ran a league for me and my buddies. PM me if you guys need someone to fill your leagues. I'll be active.

Thanks, I checked out the HFNHL site, but I think it's a little too in-depth for me. I prefer to pick my roster and let them do all the hard work.

As for players being inactive, that totally sucks, especially if they have some of the best players on their roster.

@ Melrose Jr.

Head to head is cool if you do a live draft, but if it's an automated someone's roster is always off-balanced.

Yeah we should just look at all of last years teams and see who stayed active and have a league with them. I know the last couple years we've done it theres always been half the league that stops playing.

Live draft is the only way to go.

rangerfan_79 08-08-2007 08:33 PM

Regular yahoo leagues are boring when 1/2 the teams don't stick with it. I'm in for a small $$ league if someone starts one.:yo:

Think league 2 only had 2 no shows when all was said and done....

Think I got 3rd or something.

Found:

Playoff Matchups for league #2: (First Round)

(1) Jay Spot Jokers (BYE)
(2) Jagrstrakanylander (BYE)

(3) Luke2484
(6) UAGoalieGuy

(4) Cynics Death Squad
(5) SJB3599

I got screwed! I forget how, but, I remember being peeved, hahah.

Geogaddi 08-09-2007 04:31 AM

Agree with Tyrant, had a good showing. Hoping to actually make the Draft this time, so i can actually pick the team i want. Def want to join whatever league is up.
