Official Arizona Sports Thread (MLB, NFL, NBA, Devils, Cats, etc.)

With the Cardinals in season, the Suns coming up, and the D'Backs on pace to win a pennant, I thought it was about time we just had a dedicated Arizona sports thread. Possibly stickied like every other HF boards forum.

Mercury win the WNBA title. Nice job.

Neil Rackers FINALLY doesn't screw up and wins the game against the Seahawks. That was nice as well.

Bandit34 09-16-2007 07:32 PM

We needed one of these.

With three wins in three games today of arizona games. Let's hope the coyotes can make it four for four.:yo:

Naych_PHX 09-16-2007 07:34 PM

Hey, the Mercury actually won it? Thats cool.

YotesFan 09-16-2007 08:01 PM

Cardinals Win Baby! Don't get to say that to often.

And the Dbacks are looking good. They could make a nice run in the postseason.

Robotbike 09-16-2007 08:18 PM

What's the WNBA?

TeamTippett 09-21-2007 01:38 AM

I wouldn't quite crown the Dbacks with the pennant just yet.
they first have to avoid a meltdown and win the west. But, who knows. There sucess has defide logic, so anything is possible. I'm concerened about the pitching.

rt 09-21-2007 01:40 AM

If they sneak into the playoffs they'll have to face the big bad Brewers :biglaugh:. The National League is a joke.

Well the Diamondbacks are the MLB equivalent of the Penguins. Success right now is just gravy. They are on the edge of winning a pennant and still have rather poor attendance.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm happy for the D-Backs and I know that the post season is just a bonus for a re-building team. My point was that with the National League playoff picture being less than stellar, they could luck out and actually win a series.

D'Backs stomped out the Dodgers last night. Boy was that fun to watch. Too bad Tony Clark will never get any MVP votes.

Cardinals are going to get eaten alive by the Raven's defense. Not going to be pretty.

XX 09-23-2007 01:07 AM

Magic number for the D'Backs is 7 now.

ASU coming back from the dead (were down 19 to nothin) Can't wait to transfer there next year when Erickson has the program at the top of the pac 10.

Not according to this http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/gameTra...d=200709220058

but I'm on a delay.

Torrain is an absolute beast of a running back. ASU always had a really crappy running game and then this kid comes out of nowhere. Junior college, actually.

TeamTippett 09-23-2007 01:21 AM

No he just got 3 TD back to back. hell of a night for phx sports!!!

you know it.

What a ****** game by the Cardinals. Leinart sucks ass, gets pulled, Warner saves the day. And then the Cardinals demonstrate the #1 reason why they are a losing program - they were happy to just tie it up on their last drive. Idiots. Whisenhunt should know better than that. With such a porous defense and the Ravens with the ball last, they should have just went for it.

Oh, and if Bryant Johnson didn't suck at catching they would've won the game too. He had 3 or 4 dropped passes, including the game winner. I still can't believe Rod Graves got a 4 year extension after the horrible moves he has made, which include the Suggs trade.

Unbelievable.

coyoteshockeyfan 09-23-2007 04:16 PM

So many blown opportunities -- the missed FG, Fitz losing the ball, the Wilson hit on Heap. Ugh...

Bandit34 09-24-2007 12:26 AM

At least they didn't get destroyed.:sarcasm:

No, that's far too easy. This team has to torment you and pull your strings over and over again only to kick you back into the dirt. Remember the monday night meltdown? ugh.

Looks like the Fathers are the ones melting down (i.e. Milton Bradley getting tackled by his manager while in the process of trying to kill the first base ump)!! They are in big time trouble...3 back of the D-Backs for the west and tied with Philly for the wild card (Rockies only 1 GB and the Braves 3 GB). Have a nice winter Fathers...and have fun doing plenty of this :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
